We were just there for an overnight stay with a small RV. We very much enjoyed our interactions with Dana and the experience of staying in this somewhat remote camp. With our small RV we usually rely on bathrooms and showers in the camp, but we had not expected that these facilities are outside. Since the nights were quite cold this was not optimal. During warmer seasons this would be just fine though.

This place exceeded all my expectations. Dana was a great host and I enjoyed chatting with him and hearing about the history of the property. He was very accommodating for my entire stay. I loved the remoteness of this property and views of the Rincon. The road to get to the property was sandy desert road that can be bumpy at times—but I had no problems pulling my old 1965 avion trailer. Just take it slow and enjoy the tranquility. This place is amazing and can accommodate just about any type of traveler.

We will definitely do our best to come here again and for more than one night. We stayed here in early October and there were two other guests, whom we never saw or heard. Dana, however, was welcoming, escorted us to our site and made sure we had all we needed. We ate dinner by the full moon over the desert and accompanied by-- complete silence. Sites are electric and water, all we needed. The pool, showers and facilities were most welcome. The site is 5 miles by dirt road from I-10 so it's not advisable to forget any essentials! Saguaro NP, Caverns SP, hiking and other outdoor activities are all within an hour's drive of the resort. We want to come again with bicycles and plan more time for hiking!

It was a full moon-- the photo does not do justice to the view we had. All to ourselves! Dana told us there was another couple staying at the Sanctuary, but we never saw them... just us and the moon.

Desert Sanctuary is a wonderful place to spend a few days ( at least). Dana, the owner, is very laid back and kind. He is quick to respond and attentive to his guests. There is a 4 mile drive on a well maintained and wide gravel road. The property is very well maintained and very interesting. The sites are level but bigger rigs might have some issues with maneuvering. You can tell the owner is continually improving the site and amenities. We look forgot a return visit.

We had an outstanding visit to the Sanctuary! The peace and quiet were soothing to the soul. Dana, the host, couldn’t have been nicer and made sure we had everything we needed for a great weekend stay. If you love the desert, then you will love this place.

Dana was a generous and accomodating host. Perfect quiet getaway/retreat. Hot outdoor showers, hot tub, swimming pool. It would be perfect for a getaway, vacation, or a much needed respite from being on the road. Loved it!

Great location in eastern Arizona, intriguing property history... if only the walls could talk. We had no issues with the dirt road to the property (2WD truck and 23’ trailer) but after a rain I might be hesitant to travel the road. Really great amenities: pool, hot tub, funky game room... stars and peace at night were incredible. Dana, the host was very friendly and accommodating. He was eager to make our stay as pleasant as possible (and it was!). RV sites with hookups had the hookups installed at the fronts of the sites; Dana said he planned to move them back after the current season (No problem for us as we travel with a long water line and long extension cord just in case). We were able to back into our site and get level with some effort. We felt perfectly safe (also traveling with 2 and 4 year old boys).
