We had a WONDERFUL stay at the Desert Sanctuary. First of all, the area is BEAUTIFUL. The mountains provided a great view throughout our stay. The host is extremely nice, there are plenty of dogs (which we LOVE) and a lot of stuff to do. We spent some time by the pool, hung up our slack lines at the campsite, and built a fire. We have stayed at over 30 Hipcamps and this site was definitely one of our favorites. The property has a lot (A LOT) of extremely interesting history, which the host pleasantly told us about. The icing on the cake: in the morning when we were about to leave, we actually got our conversion van stuck in the dirt. The host and his hand were kind enough to help dig/pull us out at 7am, which we extremely appreciated. We highly suggest staying at this property if you're in the area!

This a beautiful and amazing secret of the desert! The property is huge with great landscape views. There is plenty of space to camp. Dana was a wonderful host and very welcoming and accommodating. Weather was warm during the day so having access to a pool was a plus! We had our child and dog with us could not have asked for a better experience! Thank you for sharing this treasure-- We will definitely be back!

This place is great. Dana is the most accommodating host - he went above and beyond by gathering his garden hoses to run water to my RV (hookups aren't standard) and gave me and my dog free run of his beautiful grounds and pool (yes, the dog swam in his mini Olympic pool. The sunsets were spectacular and the views of Rincon Peak unbeatable. You'll want to have a robust vehicle to navigate the dirt roads accessing the property - the road is pretty beat up following the heavy monsoons.

We enjoyed our stay at Dana’s place, he was a great host that went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Thinking of staying at the sanctuary again next year and will recommend to friends who want to get out of the city and enjoy the Rincons. In addition to the well maintained campsite were the very refreshing pool and hot tub. They were perfect after a long hike. The grounds were quiet, peaceful and had great views all around. Communication with Dana was really straightforward and added to our enjoyment of this trip at the Desert Sanctuary. Thanks again Dana!
