Dead Horse Ranch Campground is one of the best situated campgrounds to explore the greater Sedona area.

Very well run state park. No surprises. Greta facilities, flat sites, nice hiking. As expected

My favorite AZ State Park! The hiking trails are amazing. I usually stay in the camper cabins. They're on their own loop with showers. Fishing is available too. There are lots of interesting places to visit nearby. See Jerome, Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon.

Best camp site for first-timers; clean facilities; short drive to grocery store, if needed

Having gone in the summer, I had a rather bad experience here. There is no shading around so if you plan on going, make sure to bring something to cover yourself with. The lake was refreshing and my friends and I were able to find an area that was pretty secluded to get away. With the right people, this campground can be a blast! With the wrong ones, get ready to complain together because of the blistering heat, ha.
