Dr. Tony Povilitis and his non-profit, Life Net Nature, purchased several fairly wild Arizona properties near Dos Cabezas back in the mid 90s to protect wildlife habitat for wintering sparrows, birds of prey, bobcat, mule deer, javelina, and a variety of reptiles and amphibians. The region is becoming more developed with hobby farms and vineyards (great tasting rooms nearby), but he and his wife Dusti want to keep their lands as wild and native as possible. They have a spectacular desert garden where you can camp, or you can pick a more remote site. Javelina and deer are regulars at the garden ponds.
