The property is located by Robles junction. In the late 1800's it was part of one of the largest ranches in the Arizona territory. The original ranch house is about 5 miles away just off ajo hwy. For non Spanish speaking people. Ajo is pronounced ah hoe. It means garlic. History is that mr. Robles was a mail carrier between Tucson and the town of ajo. He discovered water and dug a well. He promptly quit the post office and opened a stage stop with his brother. They then acquired millions of acres of land across the southern part of Arizona. It is estimated that at one time the ranch was over 3 million acres. Which made it one of the largest ranches in the Arizona territory. It was broken up and sold off in the early 1930's. Learn more about this land: The camp is about 20 miles west of Tucson. Here we have so much it's hard to list it all! The property is 1/2 a mile off a paved road. We are completely fenced. Across the road are thousands of acres of Arizona trust land. The trust land requires a $20 annual permit. Tucson hosts the largest rock and mineral show in the world annually. We have the southern most ski resort in the country. Lots to do and see here.

Julie was responsive and helpful when we booked. The road in was really bad. Huge potholes and washboard on the dirt road. There may be a better way in but GPS didn't know about it. Would be helpful to know route options in advance. 5 pitbulls live here, seemed friendly but a bit intimidating. The food jumped on our car, marring the finish. There was quite a bit of dog poop were we were told to park. Robert was super friendly.

Hi, I stayed for 2 nights, it is a nice place, Julie and Robert are very nice people. It is in a neighborhood. There is an observatory nearby, but unfortunately it was closed because of pandemic.

Good Vibes
Tent camped here with two of my friends and had a great time! The couple who owns the property is super cool, very welcoming, and you’ll leave with some awesome stories of their travels too. The tent site was nice and flat, plain, perfect to set up camp and park our car by. We drove in on the somewhat hilly dirt road in a hatchback so literally any vehicle should be able to access the property as long as there isn’t flooding. Great location to see Tucson and Saguaro Nat’l Park; great bouldering and hiking all around! The dogs are great, we miss them already. Also they were reasonably cautious regarding covid safety.

Great place. Simple (no hook-ups). Parked out RV behind the host's house. Beautiful views. Very friendly and accommodating hosts. Easy drive to Kitt Peak and close to Tucson. Would happily stay over again.

The site is ideally situated for visiting Tucson and it’s many museums/parks/attractions. That said there are difficulties. The road in is over a half mile of rolling dirt road where you don’t want to drive if it’s wet. My main concern is that the location felt unsafe maybe due to all the warning signs on their gate and having to be locked in at night. The couple were solicitous but clearly new. I was their first customer. No mention of bathroom use, where to put garbage tho these were mentioned in amenities. There are three big dogs on the property. Very gentle and well behaved but it meant my cat & I were limited to use of space outside of my camper until dusk when dogs went in. The space is basically a dirt patch in their backyard space which considering the price was fine. I think in time the couple might get used to having hipcampers in their space and be a little more relaxed. And like I said, the location is perfect for visiting Tucson.
