We have properties in Yucca, AZ, Valle, AZ (30 minutes to the Grand Canyon), and Holbrook, AZ (20 minutes to the Petrified Forest). Learn more about this land: Beautiful dispersed camping on 18 acres of raw land overlooking the Painted Desert. Quiet, peaceful, secluded. Cars basically never come down this road, you're likely to see more cows than people :) The site is in a great central location. 11 miles to the Petrified Forest entrance off the I-40 and 15 miles to Holbrook for supplies, great eateries and just a good old Route 66 town vibe! The nearest neighbor a half mile away, so you'll have plenty of privacy. Awesome sunsets over the painted desert & brilliant star gazing by night. Free range cows and jack rabbits roaming around. Its peaceful and calm, you're in the middle of nowhere yet right by everything. You can set up your tent or whatever you're sleeping in anywhere on the property you like. The space is 1.5 miles off the Interstate 40. Easy to get to, however the last 1/2 mile is a little bumpy and sandy in spots so be prepared for that. I'd recommend something with high clearance but any normal car should be fine.

Stay away
The access road was nearly impassable. There were 12 inch deep ruts and deeper potholes too large to straddle, half of the road was closed so it was a single lane and that was on the “good road.” No signage. Obscure landmarks. It’s simply irresponsible to attract the public to such a location - and take their money. We could have ruined the undercarriage to our car, gotten stranded in a clay muck if it had rained or snowed, and the unfriendly neighbors certainly looked menacing. We never did find the place and left. When we asked for a refund, there was no response to our request.

Very primitive, works in a pinch
Nothing to it, really just some land. Kinda close to the highway so there is some noise all night, but not too bad. Very little light pollution so stars are great. Good that they allow fires. I would generally recommend dispersed camping in the national forest to the west over this, but this is closer to the national park and I was in a bit of a time crunch which is why I stayed here.

Big Spin Ranch Petrified Forest
Pretty much impossible to find
The directions written out and the GPS coordinates don’t match, so we really didn’t know if we were in the right place. Could definitely benefit from some extra signs to help people find it. The roads are also in really bad shape.

Directions can be confusing especially at night, wasn’t able to find the site unfortunately. The gps coordinates didn’t line up with the host directions in our experience. Could maybe use just a few more signs to distinct where the right place to camp is.

We got there right as the sun was setting. The directions were clear and helpful. We enjoyed our night and was thankful the last minute accommodations.

As advertised, prepare to rough it
Just as advertised. Wouldn’t recommend camping in a tent this time of year (June) cause of the heat and dryness. We had a hard time getting to the land, but I think that was just us being bad at reading directions. There were some cute cows and farm dogs roaming the area. It was perfectly close to Holbrook and the petrified forest. It is not accessible to anyone without a 4wd. We even had a rough ride in our Jeep Wrangler.
