Welcome to Big Sky Retreat AZ!   (Prepared campers ONLY! Night temperatures are in the low 20F to 30F degree! Google, "Valle AZ weather" for up to date weather. Daytime temps are still very pleasant in the mid 40s to 60s.)

However, we have also designed and built an enclosed propane-powered grill complete with cooking racks and utensils! So bring yer' smores, hot dogs and tasty meats!

Onsite property owners.

Petting Zoo still available. We have baby goats, adult goats, chicks, kittens, puppies, ducks, etc... Weather permitting, we will bring the animals down to your site for an extra special experience while your here!

NEW FOR 2020! (shared between our 3 sites)

  • One picnic table if needed. Just 3 sites currently, so it is shared.
  • Some really cool aesthetics!
  • Two large plastic barrel bins. For "small" trash & aluminum cans ONLY. (Please limit to small amounts of trash disposal on property. We must haul manually, thanks!)

If this site is booked, see our other sites, "Lonesome Dove", "Hummingbird, and "Pronghorn". All sites were planned equal in views and unique arrangements.

Welcome to nature's planetarium...

On clear nights, sleep under a wondrous view of the Milky Way and expansive stars! Then, awaken in the morning to the local songbirds and buzzing of the local hummingbirds. Bring a camera, as the sunset skies are always unique. The 2.3-acre property has plenty of Juniper and Pinon trees.

We are "pet friendly" as long as your pets are friendly too! We have medium/large family-oriented dogs kept inside or within a fenced area by our home. We have many critters here on our mini-farm as well.

(Tie outs or leashes required when outside of your tent or trailer, but we may make an exception for well-behaved pets.)

You can pick up a "few" last minute foods and drinks at the local Valle Travel Stop located 4.5 miles away. However, it's best to stock up on supplies prior to arrival.

Please notify us at least half an hour before arrival time if possible.

NOTE: Due to the majority of our guests coming and going to the canyon early in the morning, our latest check-in time is 8:00 PM

Please be mindful and courteous of our other campers. Our "quiet hours" are between 9 pm-6 am. (music, generators, barking dogs, etc.)

Thanks, and enjoy your stay!

Our 2 night stay at Big Sky Retreat was perfect. We were so happy to have our own fire pit. The hot shower was terrific and refreshing. Nothing will beat the views of the mountains, proximity to the Grand Canyon, and secluded grounds. I would return!

Our stay here was great. It is super remote and the stars are amazing. The facilities were well made. Please know it is rustic but we loved the extra touches like the fairy lights to help find the restroom at night. The shower was great, nice, and hot! The host was very welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Andrew and Cody were awesome. Super friendly and welcoming. They have a little sanctuary out there in the desert. The facilities had a creative touch and you could see the family puts love into the place. We would absolutely love to come back!
