CAMPSITE: "PRONGHORN" (FREE Petting Zoo!)

Onsite property owners.

DESCRIPTION:

If this site is booked, see our other two sites, "Hummingbird" and "Lonesome Dove"!

Nature's planetarium... On clear nights, sleep under a view of the Milky Way and expansive stars! Awaken in the morning to the local songbirds. Bring a camera, as the sunsets are beyond words. The 2.2 acre property has plenty of Juniper and Pinon trees. Over 1 acre is dedicated to our campsites only. We are family friendly, so kids are no problem.  We have many mini-farm friends here. We provide a showing of the animals in our FREE petting zoo upon request (Petting zoo is located in between our living acre and our acre for campsites, so they won't be TOO close ! Donations are accepted and will go towards animal upkeep and winter enclosures. We have a lot of friendly rabbits, chickens, an iguana, chameleon, kittens, and a potbelly pig named "Bebop"!)

We are "pet friendly" as long as your pets are! (Tie outs and/or leashes required when outside of tent or trailer)

Our campsites are "primitive", much like most National Forest sites in the area. However, we do provide an outdoor composting toilet. We also have stone fire pits which can be used for cooking or just for the ambiance.

You can pick up last minute foods and drinks at the local Valle Travel Stop located 4.5 miles away.

Please notify us at least a half an hour before arrival time if possible.

NOTE: Due to the majority of our guests coming and going to the canyon early in the morning, our latest check in time is 8:00 PM. Please be courteous of our other campers and keep "quiet hours" 9pm-7am. Thanks!

We had a wonderful stay at Suzanne's beautiful campsite. It's about 40 minutes south of the Grand Canyon in a location that's convenient to Flagstaff and Williams. Both Suzanne and her husband were friendly, kind, and beyond helpful. They navigated us to our site upon arrival, offered to guide us out, and even started a fire for us. Their property is gorgeous, with views of the mountains and a lovely sunset. The composting toilet was also a nice touch! I'd recommend a stay at the Hummingbird site for anyone who wants to stay in a beautiful location run by great people.

If you've ever been driving and saw a spot and thought to yourself it would be cool to camp out here... This is it. It's far away enough from the roads to not hear the traffic and have one of the most stunning views of a star filled night. Perfect spot to start your Grand Canyon trip from or to base it out of. There is also a gas station/gift shop a few miles down the road.
Highly recommend.

We had a ton of fun camping here! Suzanne and her family were excellent hosts - making sure we had everything we needed and felt welcome. The location is great for visiting the Grand Canyon and the little store on 180 has everything you could need.

Great campsite and host! A little remote and hard to find in the dark, but if you're looking for a quiet site with incredible stargazing, it's perfect :)
