Amazing with a capital A
Amazing with a Capital A! We spent 6 months in Canada and this was one of the best experiences we had! A lot of places were already closed because it was november but even though it was already past 8 PM we got an answer within a few minutes that we could stay over night. The host helped us to find the place and let us stay in front of the house because of the snow. She was so wellcoming and as the cherry on top we saw the Northern Lights dancing in the skies. Could not have been more perfect. Would definitely recommend 10/10.

Meadow
Peaceful retreat
Peaceful retreat, the only noise was cows gently mooing and horses in the distance. Plenty of land and forest to explore teeming with life. There was a beautiful owl at camp who followed us for our walks and deer in the forested paddocks. Laura took us on a goat walk and was an amazing host, we could definitely of stayed longer.

Laura really is the heart and soul of Rough Diamond Ranch. We camped in her community RV site and had a wonderful time. We loved the fabulous valley views and fun interactions with her horses, goats and chickens. We even met some longhorn cattle. Sitting around the community campfire and enjoying karaoke was just part of the fun. Laura and her team went out of their way to offer friendship and down to earth hospitality. Kudos to this amazing woman! We would definitely visit again if we return to Alberta.

The meadow is beautiful! Great escape from the city.
Loads of land for our dog to run around and explore. Laura was an awesome host— helpful and friendly. Very generous firewood! Definitely recommend camping at the farm😊

Meadow
Awesome, friendly
Beautiful, quiet, and remote enough to feel private and scenic, but close enough to lots of people at the upper campsite area that we weren't far from support if needed. The entrance area campsite/rv village had great energy, with people cooking and gathering under strings of Edison lights, and lots of friendly, well behaved adorable dogs. Great welcome by the host and her crew!
Note that you can drive all the way to the meadow campsite. But do plan to stop and meet the host first.
You go through three fences to get to the meadow site - the middle one was meant to stay open, but the first and last had to be closed behind me as I went through. No big deal in general but the last one is a barbed wire fence style that has to be muscled into place, so my advice is: don't wear your favourite clothes or be in a rush or have a broken wrist if you need to come and go a lot. I'm sure the host would assist if you couldn't manage it. She showed me how and I decided I was comfortable doing it.
There is lots of room to pitch a tent, but it might take a moment to find a level spot. If you have thicker camping mats, you won't care that the ground is slightly lumpy, so just bring those instead your old half inch thermorests! The ground is utterly perfect for stakes so you can pitch anywhere and stay comfy even in the rain like we did.
We didn't end up using the water source or outhouse, and didn't see instructions or directions to them so ask the host.
Highly recommend!
