The School House Cabin is a one-room 12'x20' cabin located three miles off the Sterling Highway, on 240 acres owned by Alaska Land Barons, LLC. This building was an actual one room school house for several years, used by the Sterling Mennonite Church.
The cabin has electricity but no running water. There is a shower house located within a hundred yards of the cabin that has four separate private showers and bathrooms. No charge for hot water in the showers. Bedding and towels are provided.
Note: Because these cabins are off-grid, power is provided via solar panels or generators. This generally works fine; however, we don't recommend running medical equipment, such as C-PAC machines, on the cabin's electric supply.
There is a small, private library near the cabin on the property that guests are welcome to borrow books from. This library consists of a collection of books about Alaska, and stories about Alaska's past.
