There is no electricity in this arctic tent but we provide battery lanterns. There is also no heating or cooling but the tent is generally comfortable most of the summer. We do have a small DVD player with movies if you want entertainment--please let us know ahead of time so we don't loan it out to other guests.

There is parking beside the Arctic tent, a picnic table and BBQ unit right outside the door. It is located near the community fire pit where guests build bon fires, roast marshmallows, and tell tall tales. Hot showers await you at the clean camp facilities. There is also a common area where you can wash dishes, use our utensils and dishes on hand, use a small fridge, claim a locker for personal items (the tent does not lock), and play board games or socialize with other guests.

Each bunk has a camp mattress and bed roll which includes clean linen, a pillow, sleeping bag (or blanket if it is hot) and towel.

COVID RESTRICTIONS: Only 1 person or family in rest room at the same time and guests are required to wipe everything they touch with provided disinfectant wipes before leaving. Showers are closed temporarily in order to protect your health in a public shower environment. When restrictions ease, the showers will be reopened.

Beside 40 Mile Air, you will love seeing the planes (no--not a lot of air traffic) and the genuine bush pilots of rural Alaska. Fast Eddy's restaurant is located across the Highway. The grocery is a mile to the west and can be a brisk walk using the pathway that runs adjacent to the Alaskan Highway. There are walking paths up and down the highway throughout town and leading to gift shops, gold shops, and the Visitor's Center, which is a wealth of information.
