Lady May Permaculture
Tara was a very accommodating host. We had a wonderful, mellow weekend on this private, lovely property. Tara and her family have built a few structures for comfort while maintaining the wild beauty of this land. The only draw back was the road in/out on which a rude neighbor has intentionally built steep, soft sand dunes to prevent campers from accessing the property. My VW sports wagon got stuck and had to be pushed out by a friend’s truck. Tara did warn us of this! Heed her warning and don’t try to camp here with out a truck.

During booking and prior to arrival we were very excited for this stay. The pictures of the outdoor bathroom and the description of the land filled with foraging and with the option to have a tour sounded fantastic. When we arrived however it hardly seemed like we were in the right place. The grounds had all kinds of construction and building materials scattered, the land is obviously in progress with brush piles throughout and there is no set or easily suitable place to set up your camp site. The pictures and the description were extremely misleading and the amenities were no where close to matching what was listed. One would think its an Instagram perfect location with how awesome the bathroom looked but nothing was functional. This place is far from being ready to have an enjoyable camping experience, but you can tell it is a current work in progress as they had materials dropped off for the bathroom during our stay. Lastly, I will say as a positive that Tara was very communicative which I did appreciate.

Stars and sounds of nature
We made some memories having conversations around the campfire and exploring the creek area with our dogs. There were plenty of spaces for our cars and tents! Tara was very communicative and accommodating. This was a good option for camping that is a close drive to the Alabama/Florida beaches. Compostable toilet was a definite plus. We never hooked up the outdoor shower, but instead decided to freshen up with the creek spring water.
