Camping/Glamping on Suzanne's property was great, and I'd definitely recommend! Particularly to those who are new to camping, or simply want a more comfortable experience.
She had an outdoor kitchen (screened in), a really cool bathroom (yes, that's a weird sentence, but it was very cozy and decorated), plenty of space, a giant fire pit, and for the bring-no-supplies type, a tent with an double-decker air mattress already set up.
You're far enough from the house too, so it feels pretty private. However! The property is set up well, should you go with multiple people it'd be easy to feel like a mini party.
Also, for the first time in the Southeast, I heard coyotes in the distance, which was very very cool.
Great central location.
My girlfriend and I spent two nights here to get away from New Orleans. It is located between the beaches of Gulf Shores and the city of Mobile, two great places to visit. The accommodations were great for light camping. The back lots were flooded due to heavy rain before we arrived but Suzanne was very accommodating in finding a spot on the property to camp. The back lots were plenty secluded for a sense of privacy and I’m sure are rarely flooded. We will return on another weekend getaway.
Super little micro camp with charm!
What a lovely little camp Suzanne & Greg have made! It was even better than we were expecting, the grounds we're really pretty, the bathhouse & kitchen were wonderful, and our hosts were so kind & helpful. We can't wait to have another opportunity to come back. It was a short drive to a great/easy birding hike and there were sweet restaurants and markets nearby.
Great hub for fun on the gulf coast
Suzanne & Greg have created an amazingly well-thought-out, creative, and sustainability-minded space to spend time outdoors! We used their property as a hub for our weekend in the area and found the location to be ideal for having a close, serene place to rest and restore. Add to all of this, the graciousness and warmth of both Suzanne & Greg and you can't find a better spot around. In addition, Suzanne willingly worked with us to accommodate our access needs and the uncertainty with our arrival time. Do yourself a favor and if you want to camp in the Foley/Gulf Shores area, stay here!
Inspiring community space
Suzanne has done amazing work on this space! Truly inspiring. I signed up for the "camping" tier and it felt more like glamping to me. There was a full kitchen available for use and multiple composting toilets. I was unlucky to have some rainy, wet weather and Suzanne went out of her way to provide extra supplies to make sure I was comfortable, even offering to let me stay in one of the structures. I highly recommend staying here.
Suzanne and Greg were amazing host, very warm and welcoming couple. Came out to meet us and showed us around their property, explaining all the amenities they offered, including outside kitchen, fire pit, a beautiful outside shower and bathroom and the camp site.
The outside kitchen was very clean, offered utensils, pot and pans also had a fridge and stove. They had some games to play, which was s great bonding time for us.
As the weather turned for the worse during our stay, Suzanne offered to host us in her home if the thunderstorm was too much for us to handle. That was very very sweet of them to do that.
Wonderful glamping experience
Suzanne and Greg were terrific hosts—very welcoming, flexible, and accommodating.
I stayed in the campsite adjacent to the fabulous, well-equipped kitchen. Very convenient to the toilets and showers and fun to be around the campfire with other guests at night.
I am traveling with two dogs and they loved the setting as much as I did. Compared to our other campsites, this was the Ritz—truly glamping.
I would go back in a heartbeat.
