It's a nice spot. I will definitely be going back again. I got a little confused finding the entrance but once you see an old tractor turn right into the small clearing and enjoy!

If you want true primitive, this is tge spot. The natural pond is loaded with bullfrogs and fish...i'm sure crawfish as well. Forget Blakely.

That is a real primitive camp. You have to be ready to do not have water, toilette and a shower. For nature lover that is perfect.

We loved the site! Very private, yet not too far away... Plenty of room to set up a great campsite. The only thing we missed was seeing the pond. We couldn’t find it as the woods are thick in places and no real trails/signage leading there.

Stayed here for two nights with my girlfriend. We had a good time and enjoyed the space! Though there was some slight issues as well.

Pros
- Pretty, private area with multiple campsites.
- Close to a town for supplies and close to the gulf shore beaches!
- Great price, very economical!

Cons
- Directions to the campsite are not good. Hard to find based off of the owner's directions alone. The only identifying marker is an old tractor to turn right at but it's almost completely obscured by brush (and we only found out that by looking at past reviews).
- Communication with owner virtually non existent.
- Lots of trash left over from previous campers (we made sure to clean it up!).

I know we weren't the only people with these issues because another couple was there to camp on our second night and they had just as much trouble finding the place as we originally did.

BUT I would still go back for sure. Price and location are great :)

Directions are terrible. How difficult would it be to put one sign post saying ‘This Way’

Plus the host didn’t reply to my text requesting directions.

This was a good site. We arrived a little after check in and we were able to find a quiet little spot tucked in the brush. Finding the actual site was difficult but we used other review suggestions (turn right at tractor) and found it within a few minutes. The site has a narrow road with a lot of tight curves. We drove a full size truck and managed. At one point we hopped out of the truck and looked around on foot to find our camp spot. We couldnt find the pond because there were not many areas to walk through the thick brush but our stay was nice. Its close to the beaches, convienience stores, and other lakes/rivers. The host answered all of our questions prior to arrival. We will be back again!

The site is a good price for a night, but not sure I would stay again if it’s a busy holiday weekend. 8 sites are listed but it was definitely not private (ie we could see both our camping neighbors at all times unless we walked really far into the woods) with just 6 (that I saw) come through. There’s enough land to be able to have a private enough spot for everyone but only a few clear spots that aren’t tall grass or woods at the front and through the wooded area at the back. There was burnt trash right at the front of the entry when we arrived. Front spot has so many red ant hills and gnats - watch where you step.

We set up and had all the people driving through asking us where to go since we were at the front “spot.” And someone coming in setting up next to our spot after dark. Road path to back spots could be better maintained / cleared. Also disappointed we didn’t see any water on the site even walking all the way to the back.

We ended up only staying 2/3 nights that we paid for. Would only recommend it for sleeping for a night and not have an expectation of privacy.
