As you turn off of the public road, Mason Ferry on to the private road, Riverwoods Rd., You will meander for a mile on the private road to Flintridge Park. When you cross the second little bridge look on the left for the park sign. The park contains a swimming area, parking, and six camp spots on the bank of the river. Or, if you prefer you can camp in the river with the choice of hundreds of camp spots. There is fishing, canoeing, kayaking, sunbathing on sugar white sandbars in a freshwater river, and other water-sports. There is miles of hiking trails in the river basin. The fresh water fishing is phenomenal Bass, Punkinseed brim, Red-horse suckers, catfish and other species. The Escatawpa River basin is one of the best places in the state of Alabama to "Bird Watch." Every bird in the Southeast resides in the river valley. There are Wood ducks, Ospry, Owls, Hawks, Turkeys, Redbirds, Bluebirds, Thrush, Mockingbirds, Blue-jays and more species to numerable here to mention. The wild animals in the river valley are numerous: Otter, Coons, Opossums, Deer, Bear, Panther, Beaver, Fox, Coyote, and other species.
