Jan’s camping spot was nice. We enjoyed the stay.
We did a little hike nearby and loved the lake, the horses, the monkeys. Will comeback!

We have stayed here multiple times and the hospitality and kindness is always a staple. We have been welcomed with smiles each visit. Nice level tent spots, fire rings with wood provided and coffee in the morning.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay for two nights. The hospitality it top shelf. The hosts are super friendly, kind, and considerate. They truly put forth the effort for people to enjoy their stay. From petting and feeding the horses, to meeting Miss Daisy the adorable monkey, to the pool it was great. Having access to coffee in the mornings to having use of the grill it elevated the experience. We will be back for another stay. Thank Y'all

Nicest host ever! We were in town for the Cornbread Festival and it was convenient to all the activities. Host provided all the firewood we could use. Checked in to see if we needed anything. There’s access to a small kitchen area with use of coffee maker, fridge. The 5 acres is in a neighborhood.
Bonus: Ask to see their monkey.

We had such a lovely stay at the Ponderosa! My friend and I stayed the night after the Cornbread Festival, and we were lucky enough to meet a lot of the family (including the pets). Jan is a 10/10 host - she and her husband made sure we had everything we needed and even had a fire ready to go for us when we arrived. It was so nice to have access to a shower, refrigerator, and a coffee pot in the morning. My friend and I tent camped, and the land was perfect for our setup.
We were given warnings about some dogs close by that bark in the night. We heard them, but it didn’t stop us from getting a good night’s sleep. I also loved hearing the stream next to the campsite.
Thank you so much for giving us such a comfortable and memorable end to our trip to the area! We’ll definitely be back!!

This was a safe-feeling and family-friendly location in a neighborhood and with a nice view. They gave us firewood, which was really kind of them, and there was a bathroom and small kitchen area. There were dogs that barked occasionally during the night, and figuring out the exact location where we were supposed to camp was a little confusing: as we were setting up our tent, we were told we were in the wrong location, though there wasn't any signage anywhere, but they were really nice about it and let us stay where we were. Overall, it was a really nice stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our almost week long stay at the Ponderosa! Jan and Richard are perfect hosts! Since we were the only campers at the time, they let us set up wherever we wanted. Our original spots were in the pasture, where we noticed there were several horse droppings closeby. We opted to be a little closer to the bathroom and coffee/fridge room, so that we wouldn’t catch any of the droppings on our shoes. If you don’t plan on going to the pool much or the bath/coffee room a ton, you may prefer being further away from the house, in the pasture.
Jan and Richard immediately treated us like family and were very welcoming. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We couldn’t believe Al the things they provided for us as part of the stay! (Again, above and beyond) They even kept the pool open a little longer for the season so our kids could enjoy it. The kids said it was the highlight to our stay there. I’m thankful we found this gem of a spot!
It’s about 40 minutes from Chattanooga (such a beautiful city), which we visited twice during our stay. We also found Foster Falls closeby, hiked to the waterfall and swam in the cold mountain water. It was amazing! We visited the Lodge store (located in their town) while there! It was neat and had great deals! There’s tons to do there and in the surrounding areas! We felt safe, relaxed and loved during our stay!

Jan and Rich are awesome. So kind and generous, always checking in with us to see if we need anything at all. The pool was amazing and clean. The horses are beautiful and the boys got to feed them!

I was passing through the area visiting some of the historical sites. Jan's hospitality was so nice, I wanted to stay there and not go adventuring. Her farm is set on the edge of town and has more of a small resort feel instead of a hipcamp. In the evening, she invited me to sit around her pool with neighbors and friends to enjoy the evening. They all made me feel like I had known them for years instead of just drove up.
At the end of the day, I was still able to enjoy my campsite on the edge of the forest. She even had firewood stacked and ready for me to use!! The next morning, a hot shower and a cup of coffee around the pool while I did my morning reading just added to the resort feel. What made it better was I had the whole place to myself!!
Jan could not have been a more gracious host. If you are looking for a small resort that happens to also be a hipcamp, you could not ask for a better place. I HIGHLY recommend a stay with Jan!!

Jan was wonderful!!! She greeted us then showed us where to park in her large parking area next to the pool. Great bathroom with shower and even coffee for breakfast and a little fridge you can use.

We absolutely loved staying on Jan’s land. Though it’s located right near anything you would need in town, it feels very far removed. Jan and her husband were very inviting and friendly, providing us with anything and everything we could possibly need, such as firewood, a fridge, and a shower. The pool looked beautiful and we loved sitting out near it at night, though we didn’t use it. It was also super cool and unique to be able to hold Jan’s monkey, Daisy Mae, and it was great to chat with Jan about her. We couldn’t recommend this place enough, and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.

What a beautiful property! And the hosts went above and beyond to make us feel right at home! We even saw a mama Fox and her baby. Close to everything too.. I'll definitely come back here again!

Simple words are not enough. The most gracious, and welcoming hosts you will ever meet. Horses,dogs,foxes and the cutest monkey on the planet! All in one afternoon. Pool and amenities are excellent. You will not be disappointed. Not enough stars to rate. Say hello to Daisy if you stay!

Everything was perfect about our night camping. Even though we camped at the start of August, it really wasn’t very hot at night. The location was perfect and the hosts are absolutely incredible. I’ve never stayed at a Hipcamp with better hosts. They went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time possible. We got to see so many animals and we were able to swim in a really nice pool. After swimming we were able to shower in a very clean, well maintained shower, which was a very pleasant surprise. I will definitely be back in the future!

The stay at Jan and Richard’s couldn’t have been better! The site had everything we needed and more from the pool to showers to a mini fridge all the way to corn hole. The hospitality they showed was incredibly welcoming. They have horses and even a pet monkey Daisy. 11/10 would love to come back.

Wow! My family and I had the best time. It's been probably about 15 years since I've camped so I was a bit nervous. My daughter has been asking to camp for a few years, so we decided to check out the area for her 6th birthday. We were not disappointed. Jan and her family are incredibly kind and thoughtful. The property is beautifully maintained and centrally located to numerous day trip, nature loving adventures. We'll be back for sure!

I greatly enjoyed my day and a night here at the site. Richard made me feel like part of the family. Nothing beats having a new experience and getting to meet kind and awesome people. The area is kept very clean. The horses are nice and of course the monkey is the cutest thing I ever did see! 100/100!!
