Dereck and Veronica’s campsite was the perfect landing pad for our stay in Maine! Beautiful campsites and a great location to many beautiful places and parks! We’re so thankful to have stayed with them, extremely kind and helpful people who made our stay that much better. Make sure to ask them about what they like to do, Acadia is beautiful for sure but their insight took us to some beautiful places without the crowds. Thanks yall!

The area was very beautiful and quiet. We were given multiple options of campsites when we got there. We were immediately greeted and showed to our site. Composting toilet was nice and convenient. Communication was quick and Dereck was very friendly.

Staying at Dereck's was great! Super easy to find, park at the front, and a really short walk to the nicely cleared out woods behind his place. There's another site further back which would give more privacy and quiet. We loved the chickens and cats and dog. We also opted for a dozen fresh eggs and a couple bundles of firewood for the firepit. Super convenient and the eggs were delicious! Dereck was incredibly helpful and responded immediately to the multiple messages we had back and forth prior to arrival. Such an easy and nice experience!

This place is great!! Such a beautiful layout… nicely lit, great people, and an awesome outdoor shower. I would recommend for anyone looking for somewhere chill to camp for the night!

Derek was extremely helpful and accommodating during our visit. There was plenty of room to spread out, have a meal. And cook by the fire. The outhouse was a quick walk from our site and had plenty extra TP and hand sanitizer. Would definitely come back and camp on his land again! Thanks Derek!!

I loved our stay here. Has a very cozy feel, good privacy distance between each site. My favorite part was the chickens & outdoor shower that built! A shower is a must when I look for hipcamps & im so glad he added this amenity! The host is very friendly. I look forward to going back when im in the area again!

It’s a wonderful property with a lovely family! The hot shower was a welcomed surprise! It’s a property built with love and you can tell in all the details. It was the perfect spot for camping if visiting Acadia. Highly suggest buying as many fresh eggs from them as possible. There was a variety of tent pitching spots to choose from. 10/10 experience for a 3 night camping sesh

Dereck is the man! Our newest best buddy in Maine. Super dope campsite with a swimming and fishing spot across the street. Ask Dereck for anything and he’ll point you in the right direction. Very amazing experience!

Dereck was an awesome host, he noticed rain was projected during our stay and set up tarps, dry wood, and a canopy over our campsite so we’d stay dry! We thoroughly enjoyed the visits from the chickens in the morning, and the dogs were super sweet! Loved our stay, despite the rain, and would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a REAL Maine experience.

Connors family campground is hosted by Eric and his wife, this campground is lovely place with all his pet animals. Campsite is very private. People will love who wants to isolate themselves with other campers. Most importantly Eric's hospitality is heaven 😊🏕️

I booked 1 night stay on my way to Arcadia. It was easy to find and Dereck & his wife were extremely welcoming. As the sun was getting ready to set Dereck showed me the way to access the water to watch it go down. We sat by the fire pit and listened to music as a couple friends stopped by to enjoy the full moon. It was safe, enjoyable and I loved it! 😍

This was exactly what we needed. There are a couple different tent sites--one a .05 minute walk from the house/parking and the other more private one a .15 mile walk from the house/parking. The further one has a nice fire pit, picnic bench and Dereck provided tools (saw, clippers) so that we could clear more space if needed. He had also thought to put out a ground tarp over the best tent site so that it would be dry. There is a clean compostable toilet between the two campsites in a makeshift bathroom tent (tarped lean-to like structure) and Dereck provided us with toilet paper when we arrived. There are chickens and a goat on the property as well as two friendly dogs. While we spent most of our time in nearby Acadia park and Bar Harbor, we had a lovely stay at the Connors Family Compound.

It’s fine if you don’t mind camping in a marsh. It was almost impressive that even though Derek was so drunk he was talking to us with one eye open like Popeye but he could still move his car for us. Redneck paradise or hell depending on who you are. We didn’t even sleep it was so wet we just went to sunrise on Cadillac

Dereck and his family are very welcoming hosts. They went out of their way to make sure my stay was comfortable. The compound is awesome. Conversations were great, chilling by the fire, telling stories, good times. Will definitely be back again!

Dereck was an amazing and helpful host. We absolutely loved our site and it was the perfect amount of privacy with the short distance to the house if we needed anything. Would highly recommend staying here!

Dereck and his family are truly amorous people who treated me like a family member over the course of the past week! They resonate with humility, humor and abundance leaving one with the impression that friendship beyond Hipcamp is profoundly welcomed. This is a cultural view of Acadian fire within a true Maine experience. Every morning emulated the peace and solitude of sunlight through the trees and the birdsong of many species singing through the woodlands! I hope others will continue to enjoy their hospitality and decency…. Love to all
