Site 3 - Sky High Ridge RV Campground
Quiet, private and peaceful.
My wife and I enjoyed a five night stay as a quick getaway from our nearby home. Each site has full hookups, so no having to haul your gray and black water to a dump station. The water is from an 800 foot deep well and is excellent. As of this writing, firewood is free and is kept dry under a shed, and it’s a mix of hardwoods and pine, split and logs. You do have to tote it yourself to your site, but the woodshed sits above all the campsites so it’s a downhill haul with your load. - If you like to walk for your daily exercise, there are plenty of paved, very quiet miles throughout a lovely neighborhood to meander. Lots of hills to climb, and if walking your dog make sure and bring poop bags out of consideration and courtesy. I was lucky enough to spot a beaver and two wild geese one day, - Host Peter can tell you a bit about the various plants growing in the area and the garden they have there. He’s a congenial fellow and very easy going. He’s also a ham radio enthusiast so if you’re into that you might make a new friend and contact. - There are a lot of hiking trails within a dozen or less miles of the campground, as well as lots of good food, trout fishing (mostly catch and release) and shopping. Make sure and visit the Highland Hiker in Highlands, NC for any and all of your outdoor needs, and just spend some time in a wonderful little town. Drive the Gorge Road (cars only folks!) Hwy. 64 between Highlands and Franklin for an amazing experience. Enjoy!

Peter was extremely friendly and accommodating . His top priority was making sure we settled in comfortably and had everything we needed to make our stay pleasant and memorable. The free fire wood was a very convenient and much appreciated bonus.

Site 4 - The Hole
This was our second time camping at Sky high ridge, last time we stayed in the horseshoe site, this time around we were in the hole. The hole is a very private site but I should have took Peters advice and maybe stayed in the horseshoe again. The first couple nights were good but our last night/morning, once the wind picked up our camper was being bombarded with acorns, Peter did warn us about the acorns but we insisted on taking that site. Overall though same great experience and the fall colors were amazing.

We have stayed here twice and love it! We have a 20’ travel trailer. If you enjoy peace and quiet over a busy campground, this is your place. Peter is extremely helpful and friendly and adds to the joy of staying here!!

Enjoy!
Nice, quiet sites; good hookups, friendly host. No wifi, but cell coverage adequate. We had no problems getting our little Casita up to the campground. Free firewood a bonus!
