In the shadow of Fuhlhart's Knob in the Blue Ridge Mountains, experience your own private site. In what used to be an Apple Orchard and surrounded by treed hillsides, and just 20 minutes north of Roanoke, this will your new favorite private spot. Wildlife wander the property. Many songbirds. Bear not seen, but they are here. No wandering pets. Clean & quiet. Learn more about this land: Private area at my home close to exit 150 off I-81. Groceries and restaurants close by, 45 min to Natural Bridge, 20 to Roanoke city, 25 to Carilion Roanoke Memorial for travel nurses. Special rate given for longer term stays. Appalachian Trail and city park 5 minutes. Veterinarian 1 mile. Blue Ridge Parkway 15 minutes. Quiet people only please. No sewer, must self contain, though you can dump about 6 miles south at Gander, free to Good Sam members $5 others, or the honey wagon will come to you for extended stays. Terrain is hilly, 4wd recommended for back-in, but site is flat. I will help you if needed! NOTE: There is no turnaround up by my house. Please let me know your arrival time or call ahead for more specific information. *NOTE Significant snow &/or ice must cancel, my private road may not be accessible.* Thank you!**PLEASE tell me what you are camping in, this site doesn't really tell me. It lets me know if I need to be here. Also if you want firewood that'd be very helpful. ** Grand Cherokee owners will not be able to back a 20'ish trailer in here using AWD. Not enough power. However, some of you can pull in and unhook & get out if you need to. Private area at my home on 3 acres close to exit 150 off I-81. Wandering Waltons

Wonderful host and site for a quick stop off 81. I will recommend not using Apple Maps to navigate to it as it had me miles away from the actual location. Tina is a great host and very communicative. My wife, doggo and I felt safe and private sleeping in her driveway (camp site.)

Great location very convenient travel to and from nice and private very responsive hosts couldn't ask for anything more great View and also Power and Water doesn't get any better.

Nice Stop off of 81

Everything was as explained on Hipcamp website. Electric and water were waiting for me. There was a trash can to dispose of my trash. The site was perfect for my little camper. It felt private and secure. In the morning, there were birds singing and the lilacs were just beginning to bloom. 🙂

Private with 30A & a view!

Great spot! Took us in late at night after we were tired, and facing several issues mechanically and needed off the road quickly. Our vehicle had some mechanical issues and every campground in the area was booked. Through googling and luck we found Tina’s. I reached out and gave a brief explanation and asked if she could take us in. She was gracious enough to help us out! Thanks Tina!
