River Forest Haven is a unique space that seeks to bring you closer to nature. We do not artificially light the camp and we strive to leave as much of the property in its natural state as we can. This provides a unique experience that is not your typical campground as we keep all of our campsites tucked under lush natural canopies. Car and tent camping works great! For most sites, you can easily drive up to your spot. Arrive, take a look around and settle into your site. We are always happy to deliver any of our items from our general store- just message us on HipCamp and we will come by. With nearly half a mile of Colorado riverfront to swim, fish, toob, paddle-board, kayak, and canoe*, along with 30 acres to hike and explore, River Forest Haven is also a quick 20-minute drive from downtown Austin. THINGS OF NOTE: ⁃ cell phone service is mostly non-existent ⁃ firewood can be brought or bought, but not collected.

River Site 2

The property was big enough for all 14 of us. The Colorado River was like 2 mins from our camp. Site was clean. Other camping site very close by. If you don't like caterpillars or Frogs this is not the place for you. It was peaceful and relaxing. Only negative besides the bugs was not a big enough firepit for us but we managed. It's a great spot for a big group.

River Site 14

The camp sites were well spaced out which gave us our privacy. The main complaint that we have is that for 60 camp site 2 porta potties is inadequate. Even though the campsite was no where near full the porta potties were not pleasant by the middle of the weekend. The site also advertised showers again these were far from satisfactory. I feel a fairly inexpensive solution could be made with the ablutions and this would transform this already good campsite into a great destination.

Forest Sites

Was a great location, very quiet at night with tons of nature! We saw two owls and plenty of cool bugs and critters. The campsites were also enormous so very easy to set up a nice big tent and pop up.

Unfortunately, due to the thunderstorms this weekend, we were unable to make the trip. And since I waited to long to decide to go or cancel, I lost out twice.

This was a great camp site located right by the river up on a hill! Plenty of space for 2-3 tents. There is a picnic table on sight and a place for 2 cars. They delivered fire wood too!!! There are portapotties on site and just a short walk away!

River Site 16

This place was beautiful! So lush and green and it was really nice to be right by the river. Checking in and out was easy. It was nice to have showers somewhere on property. It would be awesome if both “beaches” had showers but even so it was not bad.
