Van Buren River Fun RV & Campsites opened for the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024 with a sold out campground! It was an awesome experience to see the beautiful Eclipse!! Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a ton of fun! This campground is unique because it comes with private access to 1 mile of river access at Shote Hole Bluff there's a shallow gravel bar for swimming, lounging in the sun in your chair, cooking out, a boat dock, you can set up a canopy for the day and have fun in the sun in the pristine crystal clear gorgeous spring fed Current River! The RV and camp sites have access to a potable water spigot, a porta potty all season long from May 24th through September 3rd, a sewer dump site and the RV and campsites have their own fire rings. The river is directly across the road from the campground. This is the quietest campground that is close to the river and it is very close to Van Buren. It is a rare luxury to have walking access to the Current River. Please contact us with any questions - seasonal rates being May 31, 2024 through Labor Day, September 3, 2024.

Across From River - Group Site
Sloped, rocky and not private
We were grateful for a quiet, safe place to spend the night after a full day of driving. It was not too far off of Route 60 and the host family was responsive with all communications. However, the area to camp is their yard and you are quite close to their home, their camper, and their neighbors. It reminds me more of a listing that you would see on “Boondockers”. The sites are sloped and rocky—making getting level tricky—and they offer no privacy from one another given the host uses just rope to mark the areas to park. We were super lucky to be the only ones there last night and we were given permission to maneuver anywhere we needed to and using our levelers we were able to find a do-able angle for the evening. River access was also a bit confusing because the host said we could go down to it but there are lots of “no trespassing” and “access to card members only” which made us nervous. *traveling in a 19 foot long camper van*

Yvonne had set up the perfect campsite for us to watch the eclipse. She and her family welcomed us and we're very accommodating. The campsite was more of a backyard/driveway kind of feel but it was right across the road from the river. They made sure to explain to us where we could access the river. Very small town that was picturesque and the views by the river really were amazing. They supplied running water but no toilets (as listed in the description). They were nice enough to provide a porta potty for the influx of people coming in. Thank you for having us!

Host was responsive and the spot was great for hammocks! A little rocky and sloped for tents, but we made it work. The short walk to the gorgeous river front was just as described! Thanks for having us for the eclipse!

Lovely hosts.
Overall we had a lovely experience. Yvonne and her kids were attentive and polite. They offered us the local newspaper with eclipse events and guides to the local parks. We were expecting a bigger more remote setting. The “campground” was basically Yvonne’s front yard and surrounded by neighboring cabins. Location was close to the river. It did serve its purpose for something as busy as the eclipse event.
