Wonderful scenery, great disc golf course, and a new restroom! It has been my fourth time staying here and have never been dissapointed.

Very nice site
The site is great! Lots of places to put a tent down, and they thought of everything. Lots of helpful things around site if you forget a thing or two, and there's some lighting on site to aid in illumination. Brand new outhouse was very nice to use, and even had a foot pump hand sink. You feel very secluded back on the site.
The disc course is heavily wooded, which adds to the difficulty a bit with tight fairways, but was really nice for shade. It kept us relatively comfortable while throwing even though the temps were well over 80 with no cloud cover. Great course for practicing control. I liked throwing mostly midrange discs to prioritize control over distance. The course is well groomed, but you'll want to take care to stay on fairways as the OB can be a bit thick to wade through. Start on hole 10 and you'll start and end at the campsite.

Fantastic Sugar Shack experience
We had a great time camping at Sugar Shack! It was quiet, secluded, wooded and loved playing the disc golf course. The site was perfect and even had a screen enclosure to stash belongings. The provided campfire wood was awesome too! I definitely recommend and plan to visit again.

Truly a Michigan gem!
Our group absolutely loved our stay. The campsite is large enough (and flat enough!) to accommodate a few of our tents and vehicles and it comes with a fire pit that is large enough to make sure up to all eight of your guests will have room around the fire. There is also a thoughtful table and grill (but for larger groups, I’d recommend bringing another foldable table and we even brought our own 12x12ft canopy to cover the food and dry goods because it was supposed to drizzle). Walk a little further out from the campsite towards “stargazing” and there is a beautiful open field to play sports in during the day and run the dogs. All in all, we were absolutely grateful to Beth and her land. We didn’t interact with them much, but the place is well kept and stocked with some essentials that we could feel her hospitality. Finally, because it was chilly during the weekend (30-40 degrees), we used a TON of firewood, all of it which was conveniently provided. We tried to be judicious with the wood but it sure was cold, so thank you SO much Beth! We truly appreciate the free firewood and that was more than enough for us to burn around the clock besides sleep. 100% would absolutely recommend to anyone considering this site.
