We acquired the property in 2015, out-competing a logger who wanted to cut the grove for timber. We want the redwood grove to demonstrate to our community, with its long history of forestry, that trees can be commercially valuable preserved in their natural state. You are helping us do that by staying in our woods! As of 2023 more than 80 work-exchange helpers through WWOOF (World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) have labored to help develop the property in exchange for room, board and a hands-on education. Adjacent to the redwood grove is a permaculture farm that supplies a large share of our nutrition. The property is also an overnight stopover for bicycle tourists traveling down highway 101, typically from Seattle or Vancouver to the Mexican border who find us through the website Warmshowers.

Lovely stay

Felt like a magical little forest oasis tucked into a small town. As soon as you enter the property you can feel the energy shift and slow and calm. David and the neighbors live with ducks and roosters and dogs and cats so in addition to the bird and frog and cricket calls, the air was alive with life! David was very helpful and the treehouse itself was comfy and very sweet. You might just end up engaged to the one you’re with 😳🥰

Redwood Grove Tent Platform

i really enjoyed staying at the tent platform on david’s land! the area was very beautiful and the adorable animals made it even better! the tent platform was very cozy and the sight came with it’s own water and picnic table. david was very kind and accommodating. highly recommend!

Super awesome spot. We rented the tree house, it has its own bathroom which was nice. Friendly host and cats.
