Welcome to our serene retreat at Charcoal Springs, overlooking the Monterey Bay! Nestled amidst the picturesque Santa Cruz mountains of California, our property offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday urban life. We've spent the last year pouring our love into this mountaintop retreat and we can't wait to share it with you! As you arrive, you'll be greeted by breathtaking views of the ocean, redwood forest, and stunning sunrise/sunsets. Our spacious camping area provides ample room for you to set up your tent or camper van (no RVs, trailers or 5th wheels) ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay. Nature enthusiasts will delight in the abundance of outdoor activities available right at their fingertips. Take a leisurely stroll along our scenic trails and explore the beauty of the surrounding wilderness: we are right next to the north entrance of the Soquel Demonstration Forest for world class mountain biking. Our property is above the redwoods, and more often than not, above the fog line! If you are interested in hosting a larger group, in organizing a retreat, and in booking out all our sites, please get in touch! All sites have access to: -electricity, -hot showers, -composting toilet (Sun-Mar Excel), -industrial sink (also with hot water), -partially equipped kitchen (with mini fridge and electric hot plates in 'The Coop' / propane stove/BBQ at the container camp in covered kitchen area), -Fire places: wood stove in The Coop, and seasonal fire-pits (bring your own wood - or buy $15 a bundle from us) (Please bring your own SHEETS, TOWELS and BIODEGRADABLE soap - Dr. Bronner's. If you're camping, for an extra comfy night's sleep, we can provide 2 custom double bed sized camping mattresses - for $25 a mattress per night). After a day of exploration, you can use our designated fire pits (seasonally/weather permitting) and share stories under the stars with your fellow travelers. At Charcoal Springs, you can expect a peaceful retreat far from the city, and immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature as you traverse the rugged terrain and enjoy the view. Whether you're seeking adventure or simply craving a moment of serenity, our property offers the perfect escape for your next outdoor getaway. Panorama Container Camp

We thoroughly enjoyed our camping stay at Panorama Container Camp! It's unbelievably peaceful and you can't beat the views. We didn't even leave the property one day enjoying a peaceful "lay day" of reading in the hammock and cooking. Johnny is a five-star host that sets the tone for the site! Friendly, welcoming, and a great communicator! We plan to go back and highly recommend!

Panorama Container Camp

Beautiful site and very comfortable with bath facilities and kitchen area. We stayed for just one night but would certainly return to this beautiful location for a getaway.

The Coop

Cannot say enough good things about this spot! The coop is incredibly charming, clean and beautifully decorated. The bathtub is a highlight, especially because some marine layer fog rolled in and we were coming from a cold surf, so the warm tub was perfect. The place is cozy with everything you need for an amazing night. Johnny was so helpful and accommodating. 11/10!

My Review for Johnny's site:

If you are looking to escape to a peaceful site high in the hills under the stars; this is it. Highly recommend this site that is not complicated to travel to with very amicable and communicative host who cares about making your stay optimal. What you see in these photos is what you're going to get; breath taking views and all amenities on site. You will wake up in the early morning to clouds hovering around the hills bellow. There is a beautiful scenic trail/hike with steep slopes on site. On top of this the host allows dogs! We had two dogs with us and they loved it as well. we would advise to travel with a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

Top of the world

What a view! 😍 Felt like we were on top of the world and the cabin was more like a house. It was very well constructed and comfortable. 10/10 as a romantic getaway and the tub amongst the wild flowers was out of this world ✨
