Up shit creek
Thank you Thor & Travis for sharing your little piece of heaven with us! I stayed with 2 dogs for a few nights and it was fun! Truth be told it did take a little of getting used to but I had plenty of space to myself and the dogs much fun just wandering around. The creek was an added plus! Hot showers in the outside were so refreshing! Thor was always present to help make us comfortable. Cabin was well insulated so we were warm and bed was comfy! I cooked all my meals no problem and for a single female, the site was safe!

Hidden Gem
If you're looking for a unique camping experience, this is it! Thor's campsite is 10/10! You can just chilled by the river, all to yourself, or go hiking to nearby trail. Oh did I mention the fresh egg and peacock? Definitely 💯 and highly recommend.

Nice little spot with a creek which was perfect for my dogs. Real close to Henry Cowell Redwoods Park also. Thor was very hospitable and the chickens and peacocks were a plus!

Gem in the Redwoods
This is a cool spot with many different places throughout the property to pitch a tent. We chose down by the river, which was very picturesque but also got colder at night than most of the more elevated areas and was on a tilt, so some of the less picturesque tent spots are probably more comfy. Thor was super accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed, including a campfire and lots of fresh chicken eggs. This is a nice spot in the redwoods that's only a 30 minute drive to Santa Cruz, many nice beached along the coast, and plenty of great hiking opportunities in the redwood forest. We checked out Castle Rock State Park for a picturesque hike on our way out. It was too chilly to swim this time, but the creek access would be great for cooling down in the summer. I would definitely come back to this spot, since it's a great deal with a great host and great location. The cabin also seems like a cozy option for folks who don't want to be outside, and it even has a TV. Highly recommend Thor's spot!

Great view, in the Redwoods
Thor was a great host. He let us pick from several spots, and we chose one with a gorgeous river view. He chopped wood and started a fire, answered all our queries, and even gave us some eggs from his chickens for breakfast.

No mosquitos! Creekside tent camp
Thor is very accommodating and clearly cares about his guests’ experience. He met us upon arrival and helped us pick out a site. He lent us a wagon to haul stuff down to the creekside campsite (just a short 50 meter? walk downhill) and a made sure we had flashlights. There is creek that runs through the property with places to swim, and the sounds of birds and running water are a constant backdrop to the majestic Coastal Redwoods. Chickens and peacocks roam the property (you may be offered some fresh eggs). Thor made a huge community fire every night. It’s underdeveloped land, a work in progress, a live construction site where Thor and co. are living off the grid, off the land and building cabins by hand one at a time from reclaimed and harvested wood and construction materials. It’s authentic, energetic, gorgeous, and large enough to lose yourself. No hot water, port-a-poty (clean well-stocked, and lighted) facilities. Short drive to adorable town Bear Creek, Jenna Sue’s place is a must. I’ll definitely be back and try out one of the heated cabins swimmimg hole.
