Terra Growers is a 100 year-old organic family farm in Springfield WI near Waunakee. We raise free-range chickens (for eggs), grow an extensive variety of vegetables, tend to several fruit orchards, and grow a variety of berries. Terra Growers also has a year-round on-farm store, events open to the public, multiple campsites for rent, as well as extensive volunteer opportunities.Pitch your tent on our organic farm! Enjoy solitude just 20 mins from downtown Madison! Be one with nature, relax, glamp, or volunteer! We’re a certified organic farm so there are always lots of cool things happening. Features of our listing include: community patio (across from our store), 15 individual campsites including several drive-up sites, several RV sites, access to hot and cold water, community fire pit, newer outhouse, outdoor shower (hot and cold water), bike path, bird watching, farm tours, and our on-farm store All Good Things (open daily!). We offer delicious free-range eggs, apples, peaches, plums, mulberries, cherries, blackberries, raspberries, currants, almost any vegetable you can think of, honey, flower arrangements, jellies, jams, herbs and much more! We also have firewood for sale. Firewood bundles are located behind the outhouse ($5/bundle). We operate mostly on a “park and walk” basis but have several drive-up sites available however please do not drive to any of our campsites without permission. There are times when the ground is too wet (even if it looks fine to drive on). You may use the black HipCart in front of the store for transporting your personal belongings, eggs, firewood, etc to your campsite. Please note that some of our campsites do not have fire pits yet. In the event you choose a campsite that does not have a fire pit, you may talk to us about adding one or use our larger community fire pit. The community fire pit is denoted on our map which is at the end of the photo lineup in this listing. Laminated copies of our map are also available in the HipCamp Central bin located inside our farm store. When it comes to animals here’s the scoop: there’s Ruby the Red Heeler who is two years old and lovely and lively and whose only flaw is that she barks at small children. She is harmless, however. We have several other dogs who belong to our farmhands who are mostly penned up. We also have a “mouser” (farm cat named Halo who hunts small rodents) so please do not feed her or she will stop hunting. We also have a couple of hundred chickens—only the most picturesque varieties of course. :) And we currently have five pigs (4 girls and one boy named Kevin Bacon). They joined us in the summer of 2023 and have already tripled in size! Check out the hilarious Instagram video of Kevin freaking out when he learned of his new name! Lush green camping

We absolutely loved our stay! Unfortunately we were only able to stay one night and couldn't enjoy their hiking trails but I will say their camp toilet is my new gold standard. I loved it. Would highly reccomend it.

My partner and I loved tent camping on the farm and will be back again! There are so many friendly animals; we were visited several times by the sweet farm dogs and an incredibly friendly orange “mouser” (cat). The farm also has all the necessary resources: a private outhouse, lots of firewood, an outdoor shower, fresh water, and a farm store with lots of eggs, produce, and a sink. The hosts are incredibly responsive, friendly, and accommodating. They’re super passionate about sustainability, reforesting farmland, and no pesticide usage. Our host shared that he planted native trees along the path to our site, which we thought was really cool. They set up our site with a fire pit upon request, they were okay with us arriving an hour late, and they even set out cute lil $5 s’mores kits at the store during our stay! Each site has a private entrance, which was very nice! Our site (ShoeTree) did have a view of two/three other sites, but it was not a problem for us as the sites are pretty spaced out and there weren’t many other campers there. We felt like we had our privacy but weren’t completely alone in the wilderness. You can hear the highway a bit at night from our site, but it didn’t bother us. You mainly hear the birds in the morning! Overall, if you’re down for a bit of a rustic camping trip with super friendly people and animals, definitely give this place a try! We loved our stay and are excited to come back again soon!
