Cooper's Whitewater Off-Grid Cabin
This was an amazing stay and we would love to come back! The battery bank gave us plenty of power to get through the night, we even had the fan running, and the fridge kept the everything nice and cold.
Inside the gated community there is an area to relax by the river with firepits and charcoal grills. The rocks along the river offer plenty of areas to lay out and there is enough room that you don't have be close to anyone if you want some space.

Cooper's Whitewater Campsite
The site was great! The gated entrance to the area made it feel private and safe. We camped on Sunday and Monday nights, so it was very quiet, aside from hearing vehicles occasionally from the nearby highway. There was some odor from the composting toilet, but I never used one before, so didn't know what to expect. There is PLENTY of wood to burn on site, but I recommend that future campers bring a saw, hatchet, and/or pruners to cut it up into usable lengths to burn. The local hiking at Coopers Rock was wonderful, challenging and beautiful at the same time. Hopefully you'll see us again soon!

Cooper's Whitewater Campsite
Had an awesome weekend stay at the cabin and tent sites! William communicated everything clearly and the property was as pictured, and very clean upon arrival. Beautiful spot in the thick woods with no light or sound pollution. The nearby creek was bigger than expected and beautiful to relax next to! Will definitely be staying again in the future!

Cooper's Whitewater Off-Grid Cabin
Off-grid cabin with class & charm!
(Review written by Kevin's spouse)
At my suggestion, we went out of our way to make this journey to West Virginia during our trip to see the total eclipse in Ohio. It was absolutely worth it!
This cabin is so thoughtfully decorated, with the perfect amount of creature comforts while maintaining its regional charm. Clean. Modern rustic. Good energy!
GRAVEL ROAD: The reviewer who mentioned that you'll drive 5 miles didn't exaggerate one bit. I timed it & it took about 8 mins while driving at a safe speed of 15mph.
INTERNET ACCESS:
We are homeschooolers, so the access to high-speed internet was super convenient. We used a Wi-Fi tether through our T-Mobile phones. The speed test was 4 MB upload / 100 MB download which allowed our laptop to work. Our child was able to do Zoom classes in a remote area of West Virginia. We found that impressive!
PRIVACY:
Because we were on the road most of the day (traveling to see the eclipse), we arrived very late to the cabin two nights in a row. At night, we encountered no other cars and felt like we were almost completely secluded in the wilderness. However, during the day, we counted six vehicles between the hours of 11am-3pm that did U-turns (or sharp turns) at the end of road. We didn't mind this at all because no one bothered us & we were well aware of the construction going on in the development. I'm just adding this so that you don't go under the impression that you will see zero cars during the day.
William was a WONDERFUL host!
