Secluded Spruces
The Green Heron is a truly special place. The combo of tranquility, convenience, and attention to detail is unbelievable. Secluded Spruces was, indeed, secluded, and we were surrounded by wildflowers, birds, and peace. The walking trails and ponds offered some good exploration, and the composting toilet was very comfy. The one drawback - which is clearly stated in the post, and we were expecting - was that there is no potable water. But if you plan for that, it's no big deal.
Terrific place, I plan to be back!!

Pond site
A Delight!
Beautiful view at the pond site! Much more private than we were expecting, which was great! Owner and other guests were very friendly and polite. Perfect for our quick weekend trip up to Ithaca. Quick drive to Southhill Cider and Buttermilk Falls.

Lower Meadow site
Would recommend
I stayed at the lower meadow site with my dog and it was a great experience. Though some of the sites are sort of close together, the family at the site down from mine wasn’t too loud and there was enough space that I didn’t see them. I paid $6 to have wood waiting for me which was awesome and they had a bunch more on the side of the outhouse for sale with a cash drop box or a PayPal option. The outhouse was super clean and equipped with push lights for nighttime, hand sanitizer and toilet paper. The space was pretty flat with a picnic table and fire pit which was a nice bonus. I would recommend staying here as the sunset views were absolutely gorgeous and there was a lot of property to walk with my pooch.

Pond site
Pond Site at the Green Heron
The pond site at the Green Heron was picturesque and well-maintained. It was also affordable and the hose is very responsive and kind. The on-site composting toilet is clean and the nicest I've seen. One word of caution for those considering this site - it's a pond, so in spring and summer, critters are of course going to make it their home, which is part of the charm. There is a particular breed of amphibian that lives here that is very loud at night and sounds like a hybrid of a goose and a frog. By the second night I was able to tune them out a bit, but it might be a consideration for those who are light sleepers. Lovely campsites overall and close to Ithaca's downtown.

Secluded Spruces
A perfect spot just outside Ithaca. The kids had a blast. It was nice to have our own little camp site away from other campers. Falling asleep to the frogs under the stars was awesome.

Lower Meadow site
Beautifull, secluded campsite. Despite arriving late, the campsite was easy to find and teeming with wildlife (bunnies, ducks). The host was very responsive and replied quickly to any questions we had.
