Welcome to CAMP 222, a private campground nestled on approximately 1 acre of land adjacent to Lewis Smith Lake in Cullman, AL. Experience the tranquility of lake life as you enjoy boating adventures accessed via our private boat ramp. Relax and bask in the sun on our floating sun deck, or unwind in the shade with a nap in one of our hammocks. As night falls, gather around our fire pit to share stories without the distractions of nearby campers. Our campground offers camper hook-ups for water and electricity, although sewer facilities are not available. Guests must either have a camper with a restroom or bring their own camp toilets. Conveniently situated just off Cullman County Road 222, our campsite is within a quarter mile of two gas stations, two independently owned stores offering short-order food options, and a Dollar General. While there may be some road noise from County Road 222, especially during daytime hours, it typically tapers off in the evening and nighttime. Enjoy stunning views of the 4th of July fireworks from Smith Lake Park, as our property provides a prime vantage point. Lewis Smith Lake, managed by Alabama Power, spans 21,000 acres and is the deepest lake in Alabama at 264 ft. The water level varies throughout the year, usually reaching full-pool from April to July before gradually decreasing for the autumn and winter seasons. Please note the rocky shore near the sun deck, which is why jumping or diving from the sun deck is prohibited. The nearby City of Cullman, located approximately 10 miles away, offers abundant shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Additionally, the city hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, including the Rock The South Music Festival. My campground is 1 acre of lakefront property on Lewis Smith Lake in Cullman, AL. with a private sun deck (floating pier) and boat ramp. The property is accessed from AL. County Road 222 and is easy to find. Public water and power hookups are available onsite. The property is within .3 mile to a locally owned grill/general store/gas station which makes a pretty good burger, and a locally owned barbeque restaurant, and a Dollar General. The City of Cullman is approximately 11 miles away with plenty of restaurants and shopping. Popular attractions in the Cullman area are The Ave Maria Grotto (12 miles), Heritage Park (9 miles), Goat Island Brewing (10 miles), and the Festhalle Farmers Market (10 miles). Cullman County has some notable attractions including Clarkson Covered Bridge (11 miles) and The Shrine of The Most Blessed Sacrament (19 miles).

This place was absolutely perfect! Great location and easy to get to with our Class C. The portable toilet was the cleanest toilet I’ve ever seen. Will definitely be back!

We can't say enough about this PERFECT spot! We camped for two nights with our children, ages 6 and 8. There was so much room for the kids to play, whether riding their bikes, fishing, swinging in the hammocks, or just sitting and reading in the chairs by the campfire. They were never bored! We loved the privacy of the space and all the shade. We also loved the ease of launching our boat, parking it at the dock, and being able to go out on the lake with no trouble. The road noise didn't bother us at all; hearing the cars pass by was almost peaceful. We highly recommend the site and already planning another trip back very soon!

Folks, this place is practically perfect, if you like to camp away from crowds, be on water, and have quite a few amenities. My husband and I brought two grandchildren, 4 and 6 for their first overnight. We had the afternoon to swim, hammock, throw pine cones in the lake. You can’t jump off of the sun dock, but the concrete boat ramp was the perfect spot for all of us the use to get in the water. There is a great fire pit and lots of fire wood provided. There is also a nice charcoal grill available. Lots of Adirondack chairs, two picnic tables and lots of outdoor lights make it pretty special. The host’ parents greeted us and were very kind. Only draw backs? If you don’t have good blackouts and are a light sleeper, the road noise and headlights might bother you. Only 6 miles off of 65, it’s a great place to stop!
