This was a great last-minute find. The composting bathroom was a welcome surprise. We had site 1. Although all the sites are spaced nicely, I still would've preferred maybe site 3 or 8 for a little more privacy. Overall, it was a good stay and would recommend. The host was friendly.

Hosts were great. Space was neat and clean. I highly recommend it for a quite peaceful place to stay with lots of bike trails surrounding it. If you’re doing the EDT Lupine it’s a perfect place to start or finish your journey. Nice little downtown with all necessities just .8 of mile down the road.

After reaching the geodesic Dome that marks the entrance of the property we found that both campsites were well designed and layout. Our site nestled next to the White River, which invited for a small tubing adventure. All amenities (and more) were at our disposal as advertised and all was very clean.

By far the best camping experience we as a family have ever had. Everything from the warm welcome for the host Bow and wife Lori, to the amazing dome experience was absolutely perfect. They are really putting together something amazing. My partner and I camped with our son and golden retriever. The swimming was ideal, cozy nights by the fireplace making s’mores were also perfect. I cannot recommend enough a stay at the dome at Know Town. We will definitely be returning as soon as possible.

Our stay at the hidden Meadow site was just lovely! Jinny’s place was well laid out with enough distance in between other campers. The shared bathrooms and showers were well maintained and clean. The kitchen area was a bonus to be able to use running water in order to wash our dishes. Overall, we had a very favourable experience. We would like to mention, however, that we are disappointed with the neglect of the tent platform that we stayed on. It needs some work before someone gets hurt. Aside from this, it was a good camping experience with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains!

We really enjoyed Glamp site #3 and especially the 12x12 deck which was wonderful for sky gazing in the day and night. The campground was very quiet but other campers and some locals who passed by were very friendly and welcoming. Loved the easy up (gazebo-ish tent) which meant we didn't have to bring ours and set it up and take it down. And it was great to have running water and a sink right at the site. The bathrooms were very clean and modern, and the shower had hot water and great water pressure. The location was perfect for us to access the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, Maple Creemees at Morse Farm and lunch at Maple Corners. We highly recommend Woodbury Meadows.

Tucked away in the beautiful Vermont woods, this place offers a true off-grid experience without sacrificing comfort. The cabin is rustic but thoughtfully put together—clean, cozy, and perfect for anyone looking to unplug and reconnect with nature. The surroundings are breathtaking. You wake up to birdsong, the smell of pine, and the gentle rush of the nearby creek. Evenings by the fire pit under a blanket of stars were easily the highlight of the trip. The hosts were friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about what they’ve built. It’s the kind of spot where you can hike all day, sip maple syrup by the fire, and sleep like a rock. Whether you’re into stargazing, forest bathing, or just want a quiet retreat away from screens and stress—this place is it. Highly recommend. Will be back.

Pitch your tent in this beautiful Vermont sugarbush overlooking a bird and frog filled wetland. 16 sites lie along a ridge and meander down to an old sugarhouse accompanied by communal campfire zones (firewood included). Short bike ride to historic downtown Poultney with restaurants, a bookshop and rad bike shop (Analog Cycles). There are pristine swimming holes nearby (2.6mi), 3.6mi to Lake Saint Catherine State Park (swimming, fishing, boating, hot showers), 2.5mi to epic Slate Valley Trails mountain biking, Howe Hill trailhead hiking ( .4mi ), 70+ mile gravel road network begins with a left out of the driveway. Four Springs Farm is a working organic farm on a beautiful west-facing hillside in central Vermont. Walk-in tent camping sites are tucked away in private corners of the farm a reasonable distance from the parking areas. The centrally located Wash Houses have toilets and hot showers. A picnic pavilion, which has a spectacular view of the valley and the hills of the Green Mtns, is available for group gatherings and celebrations and has a sink area for guests to use. Visitors are invited to tag-along-on-chores and meet the poultry sharing the farm with all of us and explore the seventy acres of paths, fields, streams, and woods. Guests will be dazzled by star-studded skies, treated to spectacular sunsets, and entertained by the farm cat Luna. The farm is mosquito free but inhabited by millions of fireflies. It's nature's playground at her best. Our season opens the last weekend in April and closes around the end of October. Wildflower Tent Site is a mowed area in one corner of a hillside field. Hammock campers would have a woods location for their use. It is located near the Wash Houses with it's own back door path, Watercress Crossing, over a small stream. There are no lights on the farm and this open spot is perfect for star gazing. There is a 10 x 12 foot tent platform, picnic table and fire pit. Morning Sunrise is the largest site and can hold ten tents easily on a relatively level grass area. It is protected from the heat of a late summer day and open to accept the first sunshine hitting the farm in the morning. Groups of multiple families, friends celebrating a special occasion, cycling groups and scouting organizations as well as individuals use this site to be slightly set apart from the heart of the farm activities. There is a picnic table and a firepit with space around it for a gang. Hidden Meadow is the most isolated and smallest tent site accessed by it's own bridge and unseen from most of the farm. Though not in the woods it feels tucked away and is ideal for couples or singles as it has room for only one tent ( on a 10 x 12 foot platform) and has a picnic table and fire pit. Maximum guests- three. Plum Corner as indicated by it's name is accessed along a path through the plum orchard. It is tucked up next to an old barn site with a stately old yellow birch defining the corner. It is ideal for families because of it's spaciousness and multiple tent options. There is one tent platform - 10 x 12 feet, a picnic table and fire pit.

Our property is nestled in the foothills of the Mad River Valley, close to the headwaters of the river. The property is composed of wetlands, agricultural meadows, old apple trees, and hardwood forest with 700 feet of elevation. All structures on the property are solar-powered and a rainwater system feeds the sink in the outdoor kitchen. There are a handful of individual camp sites available in the spring, summer and fall, as well as a communal outdoor kitchen with lighting, a fire pit, a stone pizza oven and a sitting/yoga deck. We also offer more of a "glamping" experience in our 14 ft yurt, which comfortably sleeps 2-3 people with wood stove heat and a solar battery for lighting. Pack up the sunscreen, don your coolest sunglasses and embark on a trip to Button Bay State Park. On a bright sunny day, it doesn’t get much better than this! Located on a bluff along the famous Lake Champlain, beauty is basically the park’s middle name. No wonder historical greats like Ben Franklin and Benedict Arnold visited this place!

When you get here, you can sail, go fishing or just chill out really hard. The key to chilling really hard is actually making sure nothing is hard at all: have your drink within arms reach and rotate every 30 minutes for an even tan. Oh, and those cool sunglasses you grabbed earlier will help too. Speaking of cool, don’t forget to check out the button-like concretions formed by clay deposits that are found along the shoreline. These interesting formations gave the park its name.

When to go

The ideal time to visit Button Bay State Park is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is warm and the park is in full bloom. Fall also offers a spectacular display of foliage. Winters can be harsh, and some facilities may be closed, so it's less advisable for visits during this season.

Button Bay Campground

If you're going here: http://www.champlainmakerfaire.com/ and really, you should, this is the closest and most beautiful campground in the area. There's a dog trail and a dog beach, and the water is usually still warm enough to swim in September.
