Site 5 Heisman's
Beautiful & Convenient Camp Ground
The Heisman site was perfect for our three-family camping expedition, with nice flat grassy spots for the tents alongside a pretty little creek. Firewood ($6 for five pieces) and water are short jaunts down the picturesque lane that runs along the Pigeon River, with cute Mangalitsa piggies munching alongside (they don't smell bad), and beautiful hillsides rising up towards a ridge where you can catch amazing sunsets over the Smokey Mountains. It's also nice having the Pilot gas station within a ten-minute drive for things you forget, and the owners are super cool and very reasonable people. They also sell their locally-raised Mangalitsa pork products like bacon and chops, just make sure to place your order before 2pm, or even better, the day prior. Privacy was moderately good, though you are within visual range and earshot of other campsites, requiring late-night gatherings to be somewhat subdued, depending on your neighbors (we were up til 10pm playing Charades around the fire and got a polite noise-warning the next morning). Overall a very good campsite to rent for family trips, and highly recommended.

Site 1 Rocks
Catherine and Rick’s farm and land is beautiful, with green rolling hills, picturesque pastures and forest along the rocky Pigeon River (one of the oldest rivers in the world). The campsites are located along the river and nicely maintained and spread out but close enough you may run into or see your neighbors occasionally. And make no mistake, this is a working farm with different meats available to buy and expect to see or hear farm equipment in the morning, however most the activity happens over a hill in the next valley so you won’t hear much noise. The spring water available from the pump house spigot is very tasty.

Shhhh. Don't tell anyone.
This is the place. Easy access from highway 40. The entrance was at the edge of where my MINI can pull my teardrop, but doable. The farm is immaculate and stunning. The layout maintains privacy for each site. Catherine is so hospitable and on top of everything. There's cell service! The best Hipcamp I've been too, yet.
