Located on the Flint Hills Trail State Park in Allen Kansas, Basecamp Flint Hills offers camping in the scenic Flint Hills of Kansas. BFH is 20 miles north of the world capital of gravel cycling, Emporia KS, and 20 miles east of historical Council Grove. Ideally suited for tent camping, BFH has hammock trees and shaded acreage. Two back-in camper sites with power and water are also available for those who prefer a bit more luxury. This is a community style campground where picnic tables and campfires might be shared with your neighbors. We encourage you to expand your circle and enjoy the experience! Seasonal facilities include an open air, cold water shower and port-a-potty available April through October. Perfect campsite for a gravel riding Basecamp. Easy access to water, exceptionally clean facilities, and the outdoor shower is amazing after a dusty ride.

Thought camp area was well tended. It fit the written description quite well. Would invite other bike packers with us on our next trip on the flint hills trail. We will utilize site again. It has the flavor of the hills.

Lovely stay
We had a great weekend at Basecamp! Over Easter weekend there was nobody else out there which we loved the privacy. The shower and restroom shack were nice amenities! We also enjoyed having hookups for our tiny trailer. The site was close a walk/bike trail that we walked some of.

Site 2 - BFH - Camper Sites
Beautiful Sunset
We stayed in late March and there was a porta potty which we didn’t expect but was very nice, clean, and convenient. The view from site 2 was breathtaking at sunset! I highly recommend this Hipcamp for those who like to hike, hammock, or would simply like a weekend away in the beautiful flint hills.

Absolutely recommend!
Excellent place to stay. Amy/Darius were super easy to work with and very professional. They accommodated us (out of their normal season) so we could hike the Flint Hills Trail in 5 days. Absolutely recommend!
