Bay Forest Primitive Retreat
The stay was excellent had some trouble finding the primitive campsite but the host contacted me right away to explain where it was. I would definitely go there again.

An enjoyable weekend getaway
4 out of 5 Stars. Overall, it was exactly what we needed from a campsite w/the perk of a glamping tent & nice bed. The pot-o-potty was very clean, not stinky, & had plenty of toilet paper. The rest of this review is only for the sake of providing clarity & ways to improve (as is asked for in the review directions). All the pictures showed Adirondack chairs at the campsites, there were none. Super glad we brought chairs! The amenities listed potable water for Glamp site 2, I never found any potable water at Glamp site 2. There is a hand water pump at Glamp site 1 but that is not potable (best for filling a bucket to put out fires & such). There looks to be a water spicket up by parking, but it wasn't labeled as potable, so I don't know. I never found the *hang your trash here* area that was requested we use while camping, we hauled ours to the front parking area where garbage cans are located. Firewood is made available for free with reservations (amazing perk!), it was just difficult (awkward/heavy) to haul the logs all the way to the campsite, plenty of kindling is near the camp that can be gathered. I also was not properly prepared to hike the distance to the campsite with heavy loads, I would suggest prepare it like backpacking or bring some sort of cart (you'll have to be creative using a cart along the wooden planks in one area (but that isn't too far). Lots of poison stuff growing along the paths & some at the campsite, luckily I'm not very allergic!

This place is absolutely beautiful and well kept. The glamper is convenient, clean, and comfortable. This is a great place for locals that want a quick getaway close to home.
We will definitely be back!

Already booking next trip here!!!
We booked a last min get away and we were not disappointed. We arrived at the campground in the late afternoon. We were prompted to park in the front and walk down the little trail to our campground. We did take a wagon with us to transport our stuff back to the actual camp site. The wagon helped with our belongings, but we def had to manhandle the wagon a few times to get it across certain areas. We also anticipated this after reading the reviews. We will still take a wagon again when we go back! On the way back to the camp site we passed by the outdoor garden shower, which we used once, and we passed by the porta potty as well. The porta potty was VERY clean, which we were pleasantly happy with, but we recommended brining extra TP! We got back to our site and although someone had accidentally taken our spot at camp site 1, we ended up being happier with the glamping site 2, as it provided more space, privacy and was closer to the water! There was plenty of wood around the campsite that they allow you to gather a burn. The tent was very clean, the bed was decently comfortable and it was spacious. We walked down to the water, which is not a bad walk at all, when you think your gettin deep into the walk, you’re pretty much there, so don’t give up!!! When you get down to the water, there is a little beach, picnic table and a few kayaks. We took the kayaks out and it was beautiful and dolphins swam so close to us, it was amazing! Hands down loved this little gem!!!!!
