Private Yurt Retreat Ashmead Meadow in England

A spacious, beautiful off grid 18ft, locally handmade Ash yurt. Cosy at night, with woodburner, felt insulation, insulated raised flooring and 12v solar lighting.
King sized bed and a double futon if needed for additional guests. I provide bedding, bed linen, towels, a range of kitchen equipment, indoor gas hob, a large basket of logs, eco cleaning products etc. There is a selection of cast iron cooking pans etc great for cooking outside round the fire.
Private pleasant compost toilet.
Private yoga sessions can be prior arranged. Message for details.
A magical place to retreat with a special energy. You have private use of the one acre site. Enclosed by mature hedging and trees it feels wild and natural yet is easy to access. The yurt is at the top of the meadow, in the wild herb garden. There is an outside fire space with benches and picnic table.
The site is close to a working farm. Sometimes you may hear the two neighbouring properties. A small country road runs alongside the land.
The meadow is situated on the edge of the village, on a ridge with fantastic views of the Somerset levels, Glastonbury Tor and the Vale of Avalon. Nice walks locally, particularly at the National Trusts Turn Hill/Aller woods, include a visit to a Bere Cider 5 mins drive away. The Kings Arms is a short walk from the field , with great views over the Avalon Vale.
Pitney has an organic farm shop, wonderful organic farm cafe and good county pub for food. Langport offers interesting shops, cafes, River Parrat boat/bike/stand up paddle board/kayak hire. Nearby are the RSPB reserves Ham Wall and Westhay and Avalon Marsh Centre. known for the large starling murmuration's. Glastonbury has many attractions including the Abbey, Tor, Challice Well and White Temple Springs as well as alternative shops, pubs and cafes.
There are beautiful National Trust properties a short drive away as well as Muchelney Abbey, The Newt, and Wells Cathedral as well as Cheddar Gorge, the Blackdown Hills and The Quantock Hills.
The ruined church on Burrow Mump and Burrow Hill/Cider are interesting landmarks to visit and the drive across the levels into Muchelney often offers views of swans on the floodplains.
The area is very rural, you need a vehicle. Good cycle routes and paddle boarding site nearby.
