5 acres hosted by Kaitlin R.
1 lodging site
My humble hideaway is a place to reconnect, refresh, and rejoice in Mother Nature and the Universe as one. Lay in awe at the miles of late-night stargazing, head to one of the 3 easily-accessible reservoirs, go cliff jumping at Paradise Cove (or just a cold plunge), go fishing, or even bring your SUP.
While the 5 acres is situated in a vast open field in the middle of Pike National Forest, enjoy a beautiful drive east towards some local food and coffee shops about 20 minutes away, or go even further to the tourist town of Woodland Park. Head west and you'll make it to Buena Vista and, even further, Leadville.
Yurt is equipped with beds, blankets, a fire pit, a potty, a table, and chairs. All you need is some snacks! You can either use the yurt or if you have your own home on wheels, then just park and party! You might just wake up to some cows grazing so don't be alarmed. If you follow the dirt road east to the end and go left, you have quick access to Tarryall Reservoir, and if you go right, then left & across the street, easy access to Eleven Mile and Spinney Reservoir.
All are good for fishing and boating. You'll also be in the midst of Pike National Forest so lots of hiking. Head about 45 minutes SW to Guffey and check out Paradise Cove to jump off a cliff into some freezing waters!
Feel free to bring any cookware for some campfire meals and other snacks but there is at least some beds and a potty seat. You MUST take your waste to a trash can with you upon leaving. I will be cleaning everything else, just not bodily fluids (I have 3 kids, a dog, and a snake, I have enough sh*t to clean up, so I appreciate you!)
