Alabama Hills, Lakeside RV Spot #12
Really enjoyed being at this campground directly across from a lovely marshland area with birds singing and entertaining us throughout our visit. View of the mountains reflected in the pond were spectacular in the morning. See lots of effort to maintain the sites and encourage growth of trees.

Lakeside Tent Camping Site #2
Great Place
Camping at Nacho’s Land was amazing! It was a such a nice place to spend the night after exploring Death Valley. Also makes the drive back to LA easier

Tent site no. 3 Lake Olancha
This campground was amazing. Clean and orderly and the host had great communication. And let’s not forget about the view of the mountains. Get up for sunrise - you won’t be disappointed.

Death Valley Passageway Tent Site#1
Lake Olancha RV Park & Campground
My husband and I were on a week-long road trip down the 395 and found Nacho's place in Olancha. We booked it as it was affordable and close by to Lone Pine and other locations we wanted to visit. We chose the Tent Site #1 as it was both tent/RV friendly, and we have a rooftop tent (aka not ground camping). We did not need water or electrical so that spot was fine for us. We texted Nacho on arrival to confirm check-in.
Coming from Lone Pine, the left turn into the campground is not the easiest or safest, especially as the highway can be busy and the speed limit is not conducive to a hard left turn. However, if you miss the left turn it is not hard to pop a u-turn and take a right into the entrance.
The campground had a simple layout, and the tent sites were a bit close together, but the serenity of Lake Olancha with the grackles, yellow-headed blackbirds, and other species vocalizing made up for it. Frogs serenaded us to sleep at night and birds were our natural alarm clock.
The only thing I'd recommend changing would be the bathroom situation. There was only one for the entire campground, as well as one shower (in the same bathroom). I'd like to see more bathrooms in the future if we return, as well as bathrooms spread out around the campground.
It seems that the campground is possibly in the midst of renovation for the upcoming season, as per their website. All in all, a good place to stay, but the surrounding land could be better developed for the enjoyment of patrons.
