Recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp is great for families and kids.
Purchased in 1989, this small piece of heaven was developed by Peter & Suelaine Poot into a home for their family and beginning in 2004, a welcoming alpaca farm.  The bush area has been used for camping by many local and visiting scouting groups over the years.  In 2021, we joined Hip Camp and now allow others to enjoy the beauty, peace, and challenges of camping in our bush. The alpacas are a peaceful herd to watch as they graze their way through the day. Crias (baby alpacas), love to pronk and play in the pastures near their mothers. During May you may observe us shearing the alpacas.  June is the birthing and breeding month.  They birth quickly, so watch carefully.  Tours of the farm with explanations of the fibre harvest process and opportunites to walk the alpacas are available to be booked through our website.

I recently had the pleasure of camping at Pootcornerns Alpacas through Hipcamp, and it was an unforgettable experience. Nestled in the countryside, the farm provided a serene backdrop for a relaxing getaway. What truly set this experience apart was the opportunity to interact with the resident alpacas. From the moment we arrived, the owner Suelaine and her family went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed and comfortable. They along with the friendliest dog Pepe greeted us with warm hospitality, offering insights into alpaca farming and the local area. Their passion for their farm and animals was evident in every interaction. The campsite itself was well-maintained, space for tents and RVs. We enjoyed peaceful nights under the stars, serenaded by the gentle hum of nature. Waking up to the sight of alpacas grazing in the fields was truly magical and their pet pepe added a unique charm to our camping experience. Throughout our stay, Suelaine and Peter were incredibly helpful. They even invited us to see the shedding of alpacasIt was evident that they took pride in sharing their slice of paradise with visitors, and their genuine kindness made our stay all the more enjoyable. I highly recommend Pootcorners Alpacas to anyone looking for a one-of-a-kind camping experience. Many thanks to Suelaine, Peter and pepe for their hospitality and for making our stay truly memorable. We can't wait to visit again!

Great camping experience!
Suelaine met us in the driveway and lead us back to the campsite. Trails were well groomed and are continually being graded. Everything was as the app explained it would. Very enjoyable time, even with some wet weather! The alpaca parade through the bush was awesome to see! There was 20+ traditional scouters camping in the front site, that got to lead the alpacas on their walk!

My stay on Suelaine's alpaca farm was a wonderful experience. I loved meeting the alpacas and Suelaine was so generous with her time, a truly lovely person. My site was private, quiet and I felt safe as a solo camper. I would definitely stay here again and do recommend it to anyone considering camping here. Thank you Suelaine!

Had a very good time <3
I Knew I'd forget something while packing, but figured it would be less important than our tarp LOL but thankfully our host had one that fit for us to use, which saved us from suffering big time anytime it rained during the trip! So that was VERY helpful!!! Suelaine's such a sweet person to meet and one of the cute farmdogs hungout with us for the majority of the trip which was also Very sweet & the property overall is so pretty/secluded feeling, and there's the added bonus of the alpacas nearby being freaking adorable, so we both had a really good time camping here and plan on booking again for sure :)
