Continuously flowing, ‘the Drakesbrook’ is a small river running through our family farm in Waroona. We are an artisan creator of quality table wines, specialising in alternate and emerging varieties. Come and visit! We welcome visitors to park their van or pitch a tent in a cleared area surrounded by bush-land, less than 200 meters from our lakeside picnic area and cellar door. We have BBQ facilities available that are free to use if purchasing wine or a nominal fee if not. Swimming is not permitted in our dam but there are two large freshwater lakes nearby where swimming is permitted. Smoking is not permitted anywhere near licensed area. There are plenty of walking trails and bike tracks in the locality to explore, they also run adjacent to a large freshwater ski lake. Guests must be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste/rubbish with them on departure. Coffee and snacks are available in cellar door along with cheese platters and Ploughmans lunches on pre order.

Site 1, Kangaroo Creek
Ahhh the serenity
Who doesn't love a weekend at Bernie's?? This is a must visit location. Wonderful hosts who greet you with a welcoming smile and the warmth that you would expect from an old freind. The sites are generous and easy access, the feel is serenity and the experience is one that you have nowhere else. Drakesbrook is a must do and don't forget to grab some wine, reds and whites are equally fantastic.

Loved our stay. Great spot close to town. Really nice hosts and a really relaxing location. Especially with a few bottles of their produce! Loads of space for kids to run around and close to the little town of Waroona. As mentioned in the description … bring something to level your van for site 3 (other 2 looked fairly flat). Not an issue for us but might cause others some issues.

Site 2, Redtail Cockatoo
Enjoyable spot close to Perth
The property itself is nice, but I found the Cockatoo site a bit too public. It comes off the main driveway that heads down to the Winery Cellar so everyone that visits passes the camp. But in saying that it has a bit of tree cover, flat ground and could easily fit 3 big vans for larger groups. I think this needs to be pointed out in the site description so people know before they arrive. If we had known we would have chosen another site on the premises. I think the farm will be a cracking place in the cooler months to visit when you can have camp fires as the dam is nice and so are the animals. If possible I think there needs to be a toilet campers can use, even if it was a port-a loo. We enjoyed our stay and will be back in winter

Good spot - when work is complete
Arrived at site and it looked exactly in picture when booked, which had great views. Once set up we headed to cellar door and there were a group having wine tasting and Brian asked if we would like to join - which we did and it was great, friendly and found a tasteful wine, chutney and jam to buy.. great area to sit and take a picnic by lake too. Unfortunately we were not warned about their neighbour who was landscaping right next to the camping sites and the noise from the JCBs equipment as they were breaking up enormous boulders was extremely annoying - they worked Saturday and Sunday until after 6pm so you couldn’t enjoy having food or a restful peaceful time at the site due to the noise level. The owner didn’t warn us about this even though it was clear the work has been going for a period of time - no apologies or even a comment about it which was really disappointing! However would return but not until that work is completed.

Camping in a vineyard with a lake.
The site is not flat, you will need a leveler for your setup. We used existing holes dug by previous campers to park our vehicle with a roof top tent and use a leveler to level out. The site has a nice view of the lake and surroundings. Lots of trees to tie your hammock. If you plan to peg down your awning or tent, screw in pegs will work, but some areas were too hard to screw in. The site is not very secluded. Overall, peaceful site to relax and enjoy the sunset.
