Choice of amazing areas to camp!
Highlight of trip to Tassie
Alot of Tasmania has been commercialized but this place is not. Campervanned for 3 weeks around Tassie and stayed here on our last night. Heaps of friendly animals roam free on Ian's property. You can 4wd or walk with your tent to camp at the back on the tree line, we were in a campervan so we stayed closer to the gravel track. It is self contained at this stage so bring water with you. Ian is a great host and spends the time to have a chat and answer any questions about his farm. It's not a working farm all his animals are rescues, and each of the animals have their own story. Even his dog Wally, that if you let him he'll just chill and camp at your warm campfire for the night. Come the morning you can help feed the animals. They are super friendly and most of them like a pat, once you've been introduced. Really nice to go to a place that all the animals are free roaming and rescues, but it does come at a cost to the owner. Definitely, worth bringing the whole family along. Bring some carrots if you wanna be best mates with the sheep.

Best weekend!
We loved camping at Eventide. Our two kids had the best time surrounded by free range animals & exploring the property. Views are amazing and host Ian is super lovely and accomodating, showing us the calves and Highland cows. It's close to beaches and dodges ferry, where we got supplies and coffee. Definately one of the best hipcamps we've camped at!

Awesome Alpacas 👌
Ian met us at the farm gate and immediately made us welcome. Ian's devotion to his rescue animals is amazing. The friendly sheep loved visiting our camp site, and stood watching us have dinner. The Alpacas were the friendliest Alpacas I've ever met. I plan to return in the near future for a longer stay so I can explore more of the farm.

Camping on the farm!
Everything about Eventide Sanctuary is amazing! Ian (who runs the whole farm) puts so much love, care and work into all the rescue animals. It’s clear that the animals love where they are! Ian let us choose whereabouts we wanted to set up camp, it was on a slight downhill, which didn’t affect us. All the animals have free range across the whole property. Ian let us know where abouts the highland cattle were and they were spectacular. I would definitely recommend staying here. So much fun and so much to explore. Definitely will be back. Thank you so much for having us!

Brilliant family getaway
Beautiful place, my kids loved the animals and got outside and off their devices to meet the alpacas and find the highland cows, and to help Ian and Wally with the bobby calves. Ian was a great host and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. We live nearby and will make this a regular getaway. Plenty of room for our caravan, but 4x4 recommended for best sites with caravan. We really appreciate what Ian is doing not just for the animals, but for rural communities. He's not trying to tug at your heartstrings, but to do right by the animals.
