This 20 acre working property is dedicated to our horses, dogs, birds and relaxing! We have recently moved to 19D Cockatoo Valley so it's just the beginning. You are welcome to wander into the big paddock and get a close up view of the big Solar tracking system that services the property. It is also through this gate you go to access the walking trails and continue on to explore the scrub area where many native birds come and go including kookaburras. The line of trees planted in the gully area are dedicated koala forage trees so also wander down there and have a look and see if you can spot one. Your relaxed property walk will take you past paddocked sheep (they may run up to you if they think you have something for them to eat. Cut apples or carrots into pieces for them ) Rams and Whethers are together in their own paddock, alpacas Sebastion and Bobby are in with the Ewes and any lambs at the time protecting them from predators in another paddock. There are horses, Dallas the mule (please do not enter their paddocks) , wild ducks at the dam, as well as our ducks and geese if they are out of their enclosure that day. There are raceways between all paddocks to continue your walk all around the property. Beware of the electric fencing though, it hurts if you touch it! We also have some very friendly chooks and turkeys that LOVE to say hello and be hand fed. Small amount of bread or preferably small chopped up pieces of apple, carrot, grapes and especially watermelon! Feel free to give them any food scraps you might have. We also have a family of magpies will enjoy any meat scraps you leave for them too. Campsites 1, 2 and 3 are on the right hand side as you drive in via the automatic opening gate which you will be given access to once we have added your mobile number to the system after you have booked. We are currently planting more native shrubs and trees in this area to encourage even more bird life plus provide future windbreaks and further divide sites. From this area you will see the most spectacular sunsets and be able to have an open campfire during winter season. The Dam It site, Tree line site and Solar paddock site are through another gate on the left hand side opposite site 3/ the paddock with the solar panels in it ....before you reach our residence, aviaries and toilet. It is also through this gate you go to access the walking trails. Besides sitting back relaxing reading a book with a nice local wine in your hand there are other nearby options to fill your days while staying on our property. Take a short drive down Goldsfield Rd to the Mining Museum and hiking trails. A few KM's towards Williamstown stop in and see the Whispering Wall, built between 1899 and 1903, for its time of construction the dam was deemed a revolutionary engineering marvel. Sounds and voices, even a whisper can be clearly heard at the other end of the dam more then 100 meters away. Continue on through Williamstown and hire a kayak and explore the Warren Reservoir with the resident pelicans. The Warren reservoir was built on the South Para River between 1914 and 1916. Mt Crawford forest is then another short drive on where you can hike, ride and picnic and be guaranteed to see kangaroos in their natural habitat. We are also ideally located being at the gateway to numerous wineries, take your e-bike and explore the towns in the Barossa Valley which are linked with rose lined bitumen trails, explore the shops, cafes and enjoy delectable food, stop in at the Lavender Farm, treat yourself to a scenic flights with Barossa Helicopters or challenge yourself at Barossa Bowland and fantastic themed Dinosaur mini golf just to name even more options! Less than 10 minute drive from our front gate will have you at the lovely town of Lyndoch where the local IGA is a handy stop for those emergency essentials as well as the local bakery, craft shop, pub, post office, Lord of Lyndoch restaurant, Table Cafe Kies winery for starters. 10 Minures the other direction will see you at a new suburb Springwood which has a variety of shops and a Chemist, couple minutes further will have you at the lovely town of Gawler. The visitor center here is also home to local artists to exhibit their works. Like to kayak? Well a short drive will take you to spectacular opportunities to do so. Hire is also available at the site at different times of the year. Love exploring by bike? You are at the heartland of multiple trails you can access too. Local bike hire options are available too. As you can see, you have plenty of options to tailor your stay to suit the type of experience you are after. Pets are welcome but must be under control, dogs on a lead at all times due to stock onsite and neighboring properties. Veterinary costs/wound care costs etc to any stock caused by campers pets will be at the owners cost.

this was a very last minute booking and it didn't fail us. great area for a hike, dog friendly and felt super safe. the toilets were primitive, but worked. fire pits were great. can hear the noise of the road which was surprisingly busy but overall a great spot for 1 night swag. thank you

Spacious among young gums

Cheryl was an accommodating host and the site spacious among young trees. The family enjoyed their time here. There was a surprising amount of road noise but otherwise a relaxing getaway without having hours of travel from Adelaide.

Dam It! Site 5

We were surrounded by beautiful farm animals on Cheryl's farm and enjoyed the stargazing at night. The dam is home to a beautiful family of wild ducks that loved the peas left for them, as long as we didn't move too suddenly! The dam was a beautiful spot to camp because it was away from other campers but still situated close to toilets and animals. Beautiful land!

Really enjoyable place to stay. The kids loved it. It was amazing to be out in nature, up close and personal with horses via a walking track through the farm, and nice and close to the barossa valley. The campfire was superb and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We would like to come and stay here again. The kids especially enjoyed making friends with the dogs, birds and other animals.
