Get close up to the camels (Houdini, Sadeek and Gobi), Check out our beautiful big highland steer called Jimmy, Roger the donkey always likes a bum scratch, and see the many other animals that live here at Crafty Cider & SMART Animal Sanctuary. Kick back and listen to the quiet around you, enjoy the sounds of the birds and farm animals. "The Orchard" is a beautiful peaceful 5 minute walk down a gravel road with big trees to our Cidery where you can taste and take back to camp some of our cider or sit and have a drink while watching the animals being fed. Maybe book a tour where Tony will show you how we make our cider from the orchard to the bottle and Lorene will show you the amazing animals. Or head upto Tumbarumba where you can visit the Winerys and Ginnery, have lunch at Coroubya wines,The Nest or one of the many cafes. Maybe take the challange of the Tumbarumba rail trail. Check out the water falls, the blowering dam and take in those beautiful mountain views.Located 10 minutes from Batlow in the beautiful Kunama Valley. This is a very peaceful location where you can relax and enjoy the farm noises and the birds singing.  Guests are required to be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure. Just a 5 minute stroll down the beautiful gravel road lined with large trees and you will find yourself at our cellar door where you can try and purchase some of our delicious ciders. This camp has it all!
Following a two week trip through the Victorian High Country, we weren’t quite ready to race back home and instead we found this absolutely stunning camp. Tony and Lorene have a beautiful property close to Batlow township. The property was so much better than we expected with a large grass area to camp over looking the Orchard on one side and farm animals on the other. The site is large with low cut grass, a great fire pit (Tony even had left some wood to get us going) and a state forest across the road which provided plenty of additional fire wood. Our boys loved the Horses, Donkeys and Highland cows however the three Camels were the highlight. All animals were extremely friendly and enjoyed our company as much as we enjoyed theirs. A short stroll up to Tony’s cellar door (Crafty Cider) had us trying all their fresh cider and even our boys enjoyed their non alcoholic cider. Lorene also has an animal rescue shelter on-site and is well known is the area for her amazing work. We will definitely stop in for another stay. 10/10 camp!!!

The orchard is a beautiful place to stay with lots of fun animals (like camels!) and a Cider brewery that the hosts run from their apple orchard. The hosts Tony and Lorene were so lovely and were more than helpful with showing us around the brewery, tastings and showing us the animals. Lorene is also very passionate about animal rescue and has an animal sanctuary run out of the same property. The camping site has a gentle slope in some areas, and has gorgeous views over the property and you will sometimes get a visit from the camels or highland cows. Overall we had the best time, and having a Cider cellar door just up the road was a fun addition to a camp fire on the cold nights!

Birthday with camels 🐫 💕
We had a lovely time camping at the orchard for my birthday/Easter weekend. Lots of space to set up camp next to the apple orchard. We enjoyed waking up to the camels/ donkeys/ horses & highland cows every day. Was great to sit around the camp fire at night and watch the stars. Great spot to explore local fishing/4wd spots. It was great to be able to wander down the road for a cider or 2. Make sure you take lots of water & wood to enjoy your time there.

Great first experience staying at a hipcamp site. Very private but only a couple of kms off the main road. Cellar door was great as well. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a quiet and private place to camp.

This is a gem!
This spot is one of the most peaceful, tranquil, and private hipcamps that we’ve been to. We loved it it here. Plenty to do in neighbouring townships. Great cider and the owners pets (cows, camels, donkeys, horses) are a bonus.
