Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Good Paddock is located just 5 minutes out of town with a beautiful little fresh water creek. The property has access to mountain to a mountain hike, 4WD trails and glow worm tunnel access. The paddock is flat and grassy, any type of tent or van can be set up around a campfire. This paddock used to be inhabited by Miners and locals, so you will find bomb shelters, rail tracks and other little historical objects in the ground. There are distant neighbours past the trees. At the top of the mountain there is a breathtaking view of the whole town. This site is close to many gems of the area and there are many 4WD trails. Pets are welcome but must be kept under control and cleaned up after. Campfires are also permitted when there is no restrictions in place.Pitch your tent, or park your van or caravan at the base a beautiful mountain. Escape the city to the sound of birds. It’s a quick two minute drive to the entrance of the state forest, this has access to the major 4x4 off-roading routes, the glow worm tunnel, the lost city and much more to explore. This campsite is a 8 minute drive to town while still being peaceful. At the top of the mountain there is a breathtaking view of the whole town. This site is close to many gems of the area and there are many 4WD trails. Pets are welcome but must be kept under control and cleaned up after. Campfires are also permitted when there is no restrictions in place.

Loved Sally’s. Such a nice weekend away with dirt bikes and 9 of us with dogs. Would highly recommend. So handy being close to town too and the kids loved seeing wombats at night.

The Good Paddock is pretty good!
The Good Paddock is indeed a good paddock. It’s a bit weird to arrive to, despite excellent directions, you kind of feel like you’re in the wrong place. And I missed the signage (looking with my boy eyes). Picked up a mouse in the camper which is never awesome but probs should have expected it in paddock grass near town. We enjoyed our camp. And it’s exactly as advertised. Thanks for having us!

Second time staying here. Love how it's situated on the edge of town with close access to everything local, but basically situated near the entrance to the Gardens of Stone State

Conveniently located, close to town and Newnes State Forest entrance. Quiet with enough room to accommodate the three large campsites, however not a lot of shade. Ideal for somewhere to setup a base and to spend the day out and about.
