Abstobys Retreat
Great spot to explore the region 🧡
We really enjoyed our stay here, great base for exploring the beautiful beaches and the Hunter Valley. The campsite was very well maintained and having a shower and toilet on a hip camp was a bonus. Louise and her son Toby were really helpful and responsive. Only downside was the mozzies but you can’t help that as it has been so wet, just light a fire, light your mozzie coils and pop on your rid. The area for camping was smaller than what we were expecting, but was really quiet and plenty of room between sites. We fell in love with the area and hope to visit again and would definitely stay at Abstobys again,

Good cost-benefit camping
Great camping ground! Easy access, very clean and well-maintained. A working toilet, hot pleasant shower, kettle, power point to charge your phone, fire pit… Louise answered our questions quickly, friendly, objectively and proactively.

Foreshore camping
A nice simple setup - grassed lawns adjacent to the water, a great atmosphere and basic facilities (a welcome extra!) A good gateway to surrounding areas.

Abstobys Retreat
Great location and better than expected. Nice fire area for cooking and having an evening fire with nice basic facilities which was more than enough. A lot of mosquitoes but that can’t be helped but overall a lovely stay. Thank you

Abstobys Retreat
Not very private
Unfortunately the campsite is much smaller than it’s made out to be online. It states the property is 5 acres but the camping area is very small and was full for our stay, making it feel much like a caravan park. We were woken up very early by loud children in a tent next to us. Very swampy area with many mosquitos. Upon arrival we were greeted by a male who had a go at me for only booking for one person when there were two of us, even though it was the same cost and a genuine mistake. There’s a toilet and a shower which were handy.
