WELCOME TO GLACIER HIPCAMP 🌲 🏕️ 🦌 Enjoy peace in the beautiful meadows near our home. Our 40-acre property features forested trails, a large pond, two smaller ponds, a creek, and frequent wildlife sightings—all under spectacular starlit skies. We offer a unique "Coolcation" experience as a peaceful alternative to crowded RV parks, located just 6 miles from the entrance to Glacier National Park! CHOOSING YOUR SITE ⛺ Please let us know if you have multiple tents or vehicles so we can recommend the best spot. 💧 DRY CAMPING: No hookups provided. Hydrants are available throughout the campground. 🚛 LARGE RIGS: Sites 1–6 are best for larger vehicles. These are in an open, flat meadow with views of the pond. ⛺ SECLUDED TENTS: We recommend the "Back Meadow" (Sites 7, 8, 10-17, 19-20) for more privacy, especially in July and August. 📏 LIMITS: Sites 7–20 accommodate vehicles/trailers up to 36 feet total length because of an access bridge. 🚻 AMENITIES: All sites are back-in (except 13 and 16, which are pull-through), offer partial shade, and have access to clean vault toilets. GOOD TO KNOW 📢 Due to our proximity to the National Park and the main highway, some traffic and train noise may be heard. To keep our environment pleasant and reduce dust on Greens Road, please keep driving speeds to a minimum. Site Three has easy access to the highway and mountain and pond views across the meadow. Scattered pines are in the area - good places to hang your hammock. There's a fun, funky log near this site for kiddos to climb around. The pond (and our best fishing access) is across the meadow; expect lots of waterfowl, especially in the morning, and stellar stargazing at night.

Site 5 is located in the pines near the lower meadow and large pond. It will have ample shade from pine trees and can accommodate vehicles 30' or less in a back-in site. It is the most shaded of the larger RV sites (1-6). It has mountain views and a short walk to the pond across the meadow which provides opportunity for bird watching, star gazing, and fishing.

Site 6 is tucked away in the pines for privacy near the lower meadow and large pond. It has ample shade in the pines and places to hang your hammocks and can accommodate vehicles 30' or less in a back-in site. It is a short walk to the pond across the meadow which provides opportunity for bird watching and fishing. Site 6 in off of the loop large RV loop 1-6 and is the most private of the larger RV sites.

Site 14 is located in the far back pine grove hill. It is one of our most private sites with ample shade, places to hang hammocks and "forest bathe," and has a sandy parking area. You can see glimmers of the pond through the trees on a sunny day and always can hear bird-song. These are the best sites for bird watchers. The only "through traffic" here is the other two sites in the pod (sites 13 and 15). The outhouse is only shared by these three sites, so it is usually the cleanest.

Site 15 is located in the far back pine grove hill. It is one of our most private sites with ample shade, places to hang hammocks and "forest bathe," and has a sandy tent spot. These are the best sites for bird watchers, and you'll wake to birdsong in the morning. The only "through traffic" here is the campground hosts and the other two sites in the pod (sites 13 and 14). The outhouse is only shared by these three sites, so it is usually the cleanest.

Site 8 is in the back meadow, which limits the length of the vehicle for a bridge crossing. It is located near scattered pines and deciduous trees, which provide shade. The tent, picnic table, and fire ring are located on a small rise in a copse of trees that encircle it and are very private. This is our most secluded tent site and is about 30' from the parking area to the tent area. You can park a small Camper van or Rooftop tent here, but it is best utilized as a tent site. It is also a great site for kids with easy access to the Sandpit Play area.

Site one has easy access to the highway and an extra fire pit that is located right next to the large pond. It has pine trees on three sides to provide privacy, shade, and a good place to hang your hammock. The view of the pond and mountains from the fire pit is amazing - lots of waterfowl, especially in the morning. The Tent Pad is just a short walk (about 20') behind the parking area.

Site 9 is in the back meadow, which limits the vehicle's length for a bridge crossing. This site is located near scattered pines and deciduous trees, which provide shade and have a sandy area great for tents. It is a back-in site and has mountain and meadow views among the trees. It is a great site for pets and kids and is close to a sandbank/play area that kiddos can use. There is also a sweet, hand-built doghouse (we call the dog cabin) at this site.

Site Two has easy access to the highway. The large pond is located across the meadow and has beautiful views of two arching yellow willows that frame a pond access. It has scattered pine trees for shade and a good place to hang your hammock. The sandy tent pad is tucked into the pines. There are lovely mountain views and lots of waterfowl, especially in the morning.

Site 16 is nested near two small ponds and also has access to the back side of the larger pond. This site is surrounded by trees for shade and hammocks. It has a lovely view of the ponds and is the perfect place to view wildlife - waterfowl, heron, eagles, deer, foxes, turtles, and rabbits can all be seen coming to the ponds from this vantage. Great place for stargazing and fishing as well! This site has less parking than the sites next to it and is a great site for Tent Camping.

Site 19, nestled among deciduous trees, is located near two small ponds. Deer and waterfowl frequent this site, and you can expect to wake to birdsong in the morning. It has room for a tent and vehicle, and has a sturdy picnic table and fire ring. It's located near site 16 and is a great spot for stargazing at night. It is located in the part of the forest that our kids call "Wonderland." This is our only site with electricity available. There is a 20-amp 120-volt standard plug outlet at the back of the site (let us know if you need a longer cord).

Site 13 is located in the far back pine grove hill. It is one of our most private sites with ample shade, places to hang hammocks and "forest bathe," and has a sandy tent spot. It is one of the only two pull-through spots (sites 13 & 16 are pull-throughs), so it is good for small rigs that are hard to park. You can see glimmers of the pond through the trees on a sunny day and can always hear bird song. These are the best sites for bird watchers. The only "through traffic" here is campground hosts and the other two sites in the pod (sites 14 and 15). The outhouse is only shared by these three sites.

Site 20 is located on the edge of the back meadow with the picnic table nestled beneath a deciduous tree. It is surrounded by towering birch and many wild rose bushes. This site has a whimsical feel - our kids call it "the fairy forest." This site is good for stargazing and bird-watching, and it is located in proximity to the outhouse.

Site 17 is located in the middle meadow, near two small ponds, and has access to the back side of the larger pond. This site has ample deciduous trees for shade. It has a lovely view of the ponds and is the perfect place to view wildlife - waterfowl, heron, eagles, deer, foxes, turtles, and rabbits can all be seen coming to the ponds from this vantage. Great place for stargazing as well! Its fire pit is located right next to the small pond. It's one of our biggest sites, and it has 5+ tent pads. Please be aware that this campsite is very secluded, and some campers find it creepy because you are in the middle of a forest. This campsite is for nature lovers. Please contact us for more info. *Note that because of the proximity to the ponds, this site is only available once the ground is dry enough to drive on - usually late spring (June) and into the fall.

⭐️ Glacier Glamp Stargazer Tube Tent

Come experience the most unique stay on this side of Glacier National Park in our one and only Stargazer Tube Tent. This "tent" is a concrete cylinder transformed into a glamping cabin - outfitted with a plush memory foam RV queen mattress, linens, and a fluffy comforter- so you have a peaceful night's sleep in the Montana wilderness. It has two round windows and a portal window for views of the forest, sky, and mountains. During the cold months, we supply a small electric space heater, and in the summer, a small fan. There is also an outlet for charging. A picnic table and fire ring are available on site as well as the coolest vault toilet you'll ever see. Be prepared to fall asleep in view of a million stars and wake to bird song. No need to be fearful of bears and wildlife - this "tent" offers a safe haven for you. We are located only 7 miles from Glacier National Park on 37 acres of private property which includes several ponds, a creek, meadows, and hiking trails as well as our other HipCamp tenting sites that you can check out at Glacier HipCamp. Getting into GNP: Visiting Glacier National Park—including driving Going-to-the-Sun Road and exploring the surrounding valleys—simply requires a standard Park Entrance Pass ($35 per vehicle) or an annual pass such as America the Beautiful. No advance vehicle entry permits are required. Park entry is managed on a first-come, first-served basis. To manage traffic flow, park rangers temporarily pause gate access if specific areas or parking lots reach capacity, so arriving before 6:00 AM or after 3:00 PM is highly recommended. Additionally, parking at Logan Pass is capped at a 3-hour limit. For longer excursions like hiking the Highline Trail, visitors can reserve a seat on the Logan Pass Express Shuttle on [xxxxxxxx] ($1 fee), with tickets released 60 days in advance and next-day tickets available at 7:00 PM Mountain Time. Campfires/Firewood: This site has its own fire ring. Firewood is available at Sam & Molly's Mercantile under the white tent near our house. Firewood is $7 per bucket (please return bucket). Campfires should be kept to a small, safe size - please put them fully out before turning in for the night and never scatter the cinders/partially burned logs outside of the pit. We will post if there is a local fire ban instated at any point - please feel free to message us and ask about fire updates. Pond: We do allow fishing (they are sunfish and can be caught from shore) and boating/paddle boards. Please wear life vests when out on the water. Swimming is not recommended since it has lily pads for most of the summer. There is a good swimming hole just down the road near Hungry Horse Dam called Lion Lake and also good swimming at Lake McDonald in GNP. Bears: We ask our campers to be "bear aware" - keep your food and trash in enclosed vehicles. Never keep food or eat in your tent. We ask campers to "pack in and pack out" your trash - see closest dump in info below. We do provide bear spray rental (donation of $5 per spray, per day) located at Sam and Molly's Mercantile. If you want to buy a bear spray from us, or if you forget to put your rental back before you leave, please contact us, and we can charge $40. Yes, we do have bears that sometimes saunter by - usually we have a few black bears each summer. It is rare to spot one, but if you do, please message us and let us know! We will also keep campers aware if a bear has been seen recently on the property. Cell Service: Verizon and AT&T cell service is available here - phone calls and texts work well, but internet is very limited and sporadic, especially in the peak season. WiFi is available in the Gazebo. The network is called TEA TIME, and the password is 123Goats. Location, Services, and Attractions: The property is located 7 miles from Glacier Park entrance and is near HWY 2. Access is via the Old HWY 2. Because of the proximity to Glacier National Park and the main HWY, traffic noise and train noise can be heard at the campsites. Visitors are asked to keep their speed to a minimum to reduce dust on the dirt road. We are just a short bike ride away (two minutes by car) from attractions such as the Whiskey Barn, Josephine’s Speak Easy, Glacier Hi-Line Ropes Course, Glacier Grill Restaurant and the Amazing Fun Center, maze, and mini golf. It is also easy access to the Gateway to Glacier Bike path. There are also E-bike rentals nearby. There is a freshwater spring where you can fill up containers of water in Bad Rock Canyon (between Columbia Falls and Hungry Horse on the way here... 10 min away from us). Look for the large pull-off areas between the river and the rock canyon walls and a white pipe coming out of the rock. We've personally filled up at this spring for years! Closest Gas station is the Cenex in Coram (1.5 mi away). Closest public (free) landfill dump is 2.2 miles toward Columbia Falls at 9626 US HWY 2 E. Near Paul Bunyan Bar and Grill (which is also a good restaurant near us). Look for the gated entry and small sign marking Flathead Landfill. Closest grocery is in Hungry Horse at Canyon Foods Grocery (3.5 miles away). They have a laundromat next to this store. Closest dump and water fill up for a vehicle with a holding tank is Mikes Conoco at 1645 9th St W in Columbia Falls (8.9 mi away). The closest town with wifi, cafes, restaurants, urgent care, and larger grocery stores is Columbia Falls (9 miles away). We do not have standard shower facilities. We do, however, have a "forest shower" where you can use solar shower bags. Bring your own bag or buy one here for $10. EV charge: We do have a 50-amp 220V and 30-amp 120V plug available near our house if you need to charge your EV 🚗. Bring your own charger. We had an incredible stay at Glacier Hip Camp! Originally, we had site #1 booked, but our host graciously allowed us to move to site #18, and it ended up being the perfect spot. The site was quiet, beautifully maintained, and exceptionally clean, making it a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The camp amenities were fantastic and clearly well cared for, adding to an already great experience. Everything was thoughtfully maintained, and the entire property had a welcoming, peaceful atmosphere. A huge thank you to the host for being so accommodating and helping make our trip even better. We couldn't have asked for a better camping experience and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend Glacier Hip Camp to anyone looking for a clean, peaceful, and well-maintained getaway!

Best Hip camp to date. Beautiful property in a great location. Couple of miles from Glacier entrance. Water hydrant, fire wood, coffee, etc all available.

Nice campground with very private sites close to Glacier NP entrance. Host was very helpful in arranging a diifferent tent site. However there is no place for garbage so you have to take it out yourself and water is only a standpipe.

The hosts were lovely. The campground itself is nice and quiet…definitely take advantage of the free earplugs for sleeping as the train travels through the valley all night long. Very nice outdoor community kitchen with close by playground area for kids. Canyon Critter coffee is a mile away… had great coffee and a delicious breakfast sandwich.

Very peaceful experience. Sort of campground vibes, but a little more private. We had site#2. Good shade and sun mix. Good mountain views. A little road noise, but nothing major. It sits less than 10 minutes to the West Entrance of Glacier at a fraction of the cost. Swing by West Blankenship River access if you have a suitable rig. Great river location. Also, hit up Last Best Pizza for a great slice thats actually affordable. They have good ice cream too.

Great location to West Entrance of Glacier NP. Site 20 was wonderful and close to the bathroom which were really well kept. Minus the trains running all night, would definitely recommend this location for future travels

The outpost

Site #8 was an amazing experience. It is just close enough to water and the outhouse. It is a forested alcove in the shape of a boma. We were bear aware but bear wasn’t there. We cooked steak, potatoes, bacon, chili dogs all on cast iron. Just make sure you bring a 5 gallon bucket and fill it with water for cleaning and putting out the fire. This was the best camping experience I have had in a long time and is shrouded by smaller bushes and trees. The train seems more frequent on the weekdays but dissipates Thursday and Friday. I would stay here again 💯%

I loved the camp site. The kid hidden area was a nice addition for our kids, which was also providing a bbq area. We met the host and they were very nice. I definitely recommend this campground, only minutes from glacier national Park.

Tent camping at site 8 was really cool. The spot for the Tent and picnic area was shaded and flat. Very private. Firewood and bear spray available for sale at the mercantile. Clean pit toilet and access to water make this property all you need. So happy we chose this location and would stay again.
