Site 9: Red Fox Retreat
Horrible experience
I booked 5 nights for the site 9 Red Fox retreat. When I arrived the site did not exist, and I asked one other camper who said just find a spot anywhere. There were no toilets to use in the camping area, and the same individual said we could use the toilets in the lodge, and gave use the combination number to get into it. We did this and on the last day it was raining so used the kitchenette in the lodge area (same place where the toilets were). We were cooking a meal when a woman walked in and said what are you doing here, she walked out and then her husband Chris walked in and said "out of here" in a very rude manner. We told him that there were no instructions about what could be used, and we packed up our items. After saying over and over again that there were no instructions he finally calmed down. Later that evening we were using the toilet facilities and were approached by Chris again, this time he was hostile, and irrational and called me a foul name, ordered me off the whole property, despite me saying I had already paid for 5 days ($50.00 a night is steep) His wife came over and tried to calm him down, but he continued to be hostile. I had told him I would write a bad review of the whole experience. We left the area and went back to our tent. When we were inside and falling asleep he drove round and round our campsite and were were afraid for our safety. We left the next day and in my opinion someone like that should not be a camp host-my worst camping experience

Site 5: Elk Grove
We camped right on the river and had a great time! Our hosts checked in on us upon our arrival and were very nice. The spots are first come first serve and there were a lot of people in a relatively small area so privacy was not much of an option. Being right on the river allowed for adventure and I would definitely come back.

Site 6: Bobcat Basin
Beautiful but washed out switchback
The location is perfect with a beautiful view, HOWEVER the road down to the camping area is a washed out switchback. Do not attempt with any vehicle or trailer longer than 20’ (total articulated length no more than 35’ (trailer + truck)). If you forgo our advice and have a longer rig or a lighter tow vehicle; position a recovery vehicle at the top of the road. You will need it. We narrowly escaped with a GMC3500 Diesel and lifted 27’ Airstream.
Location
Emigrant, Park, Montana, United StatesTraditional, ancestral territory of Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla, Apsáalooke (Crow), Salish, and Tséstho’e (Cheyenne) First Nations according to To respect the Host's privacy, the precise address of this land will be provided after booking
