Welcome to The Landing at Index - located on the South Fork Skykomish River, in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, off of Highway 2. With 16 acres of beautiful, private woods and breathtaking views of Mt. Index, this is a wonderful getaway to kick back and relax after your day of adventures, or just to escape the city rush.  The campsite is at the bottom of a rugged drive so an SUV or AWD vehicle are recommended, especially during the wetter seasons of Spring and Fall.  When the property was logged approximately 100 years ago they scooped out gravel from the river to make their roads in the area thus creating the back eddy lagoon along the beach. The Department of Fish and Game have a fish ladder at Sunset Falls just upstream and BNSF railroad owns the large vacant tract down stream. A rather peaceful setting, including the rushing sound of the river and the occasional whistle of a train. You will feel refreshed and rejuvenated after you stay at The Landing. Pets are welcome, there is a toilet on site campfires allowed (when burn bans are not in place).

Campsite 2 ( Raven's Roost )
The site was incredibly clean, and felt very private even though there were a few other sites nearby. The clearing has a huge firepit, a convenient clothes line, and nice open spaces for pitching a tent. The best part is that it’s so close to the river, you can fall asleep listening to the water. Can’t wait to camp here again!

Campsite 3 - Blue Jay
Restful and Peaceful
We camped Friday and Saturday night. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet. The sound of the rapids by our camp was soothing. We watched a lone Canadian Goose shoot the Rapids. It was nice to sit by the fire. The fire pit has a small round grill that we made cowboy coffee on and heated hot water for tea. There is also a grill you can grill on. Two plastic Adirondack chairs were there for us to use. The outhouse is all wood. No smells at all. Super clean. No cobwebs or creepy crawlies. The tent spot was flat which was really impressive to me. Beach access was right there. We camped site #3. We didnt see or hear the campers on each side of us. Nice and private. We will likely come again but for 3 or 4 nights instead. 2 nights just wasnt enough. I like that it is a long private driveway and the gate locks behind you. We had bear spray with us and there is a sign to be bear aware. We didn't see any bear. All in all 10 out of 10 for what we were seeking for the weekend. We knew going in it might rain the whole time and were prepared for rain. We just wanted to get out of the matrix. Thank you Thompson family for providing a peaceful getaway.

Campsite 4 ( EAGLE )
Noisy neighbor but great amenities
I loved everything about the actual site itself but unfortunately, we had very loud neighbors playing music way into the night. Ruined our experience. Nothing to do with Dave or the site. Would just love some ability to kick folks like that out.
