The Flying J Farm is 250 beautiful rolling acres including 100 acres of forest, 6-acre lake small pond, three streams, and numerous fields for crops and pastures with cows, horses and chickens. The owner bought the farm in 1998 for his retirement from a faculty position at the Ohio State university. Two buildings, the farm house and old barn, are original dating back to 1831. These have been restored for current use. The mission of the farm is to restore health both in people though the products produced and in the land by farming in a sustainable way with no conventional chemicals, antibiotics, and use of GMO. We host many visitors including tours and events. An on farm market is available to visitors for purchase of our products including grass-fed beef, maple syrup, and fruits and vegetables. The cabin was built using wood from the farm. It has off-grid electricity meaning it is powered by batteries charged by solar panels. There is not sufficient power for devices with a heating element such as coffee makers and hair dryers. You may charge cell phones. For any other use, please check with the owner.

Site 3 - Lake and Forest Camping
Great spot on a private farm
My stay at spot 3 on this private farm through the Hipcamp app was nothing short of extraordinary. Nestled within 250 acres of serene countryside, this hidden gem provided the ultimate escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the peaceful ambiance of the surroundings. The meticulously maintained grasslands added to the charm, creating a picturesque backdrop for my camping adventure. One of the highlights of my stay was the proximity to the lake. Parking next to the tranquil waters allowed me to wake up to breathtaking views each morning and unwind with stunning sunsets in the evening. But it wasn't just the scenery that made this experience unforgettable. The symphony of nature's sounds, from the chorus of frogs to the melodious songs of the birds, provided a soundtrack that rejuvenated my soul.Compared to commercial campgrounds like KOA, this experience was incomparable. Here, I felt truly immersed in nature, with plenty of space to explore and reconnect with the wilderness.Overall, my stay at spot 3 exceeded all expectations. I would highly recommend this hidden oasis to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat amidst nature's bounty. Thank you to the hosts for providing such a memorable experience. I can't wait to return!

Great place
We've been here twice, love the scenery and landscape. The water in the pond is more clear than it was in late fall, so we got to kayak. Will be back!!

Love love love
I absolutely loved this space. It was everything you could hope for 4 a campsite. Very quiet, Peaceful, Well tended, And filled with wild life. If you love birds this is the place for you. Sadly we didn't have enough time to get on the water. Definitely next time. We knew you were the only campers there so it was very private. Nice place of heaven right outside the city. 10 out of 10 will recommend.

Site 6 - Lake and Forest Camping
This is 2nd time I've stayed in site #6. Happy both times! It's a beautiful, large spot with lots of trees! I tent camp but also being my hammock to relax in. It's close to the lake and I enjoyed watching the wildlife. The sound of birds all but blocks any road noise or neighboring campers. The sites are plenty far apart for privacy especially #6.

8 The Chapel
Farm Experience!
Such a great farm and a lot of vision there to execute over time! There is a bit of poison ivy growing around Chapel/8 that should be eradicated for those who might not be able to identify it. Overall a fun stay!
