Our farm has been in the family for over 50 years. My Cherokee grandmother purchased the farm with the intention of giving each of her children property. We have been raising bison here since 2008. We chose the name Cherokee Valley to honor my heritage and the gift of this farm by my grandmother and mother. We created this tipi experience to share that gift with you! Enjoy a night in our spacious 22 foot tipi. We provide a comfortable queen platform bed for your convenience. You must provide sleeping bags, linens , blankets etc. The tipi can sleep up to 6 people, 2 on the queen bed we provide, with ample room for additional cots or air mattresses that you provide. We have cots available to rent as an add on. . You may also pitch additional tents or hang hammocks in the trees with room for up to 10 people in all. Cherokee Valley Bison Ranch is a working bison farm with bison, honeybees, chickens and peafowl. We are a certified Wildlife Habitat and Monarch Way Station. Enjoy our beautiful hiking trails through the rolling hills of our ranch. We have a plethora of bird species, butterflies and wildflowers to delight nature lovers. After hiking the trails you can splash around in the pristine creek that borders our property (we recommend water shoes). Take in a gorgeous sunset over our farm, enjoy a wood fired dinner cooked over the provided fire pit with grill. The sounds of hoot owls will lull you to sleep and when you wake, enjoy the stained glass glow through the beautiful tipi. We are close to several wineries, breweries and recreational areas (kayaking, canoeing, golfing, biking) as well as Legend Valley concert venue. We are a short drive to Buckeye Lake, Dillion Dam, and Hocking Hills. We have a selection of grass fed bison available in our on-site farm store.

Bison TeePee Stay

I mean... come on! How many people can say they have slept in a Tee Pee!💜 Seeing the Bison & the babies were awesome! Jarrod & Carrie go above & beyond having items there already that you don't have to bring with you. We will definately come stay here again.... maybe in the fall. Absolute peaceful great get-a -way. Oh! And I can't forget Banjo (the dog).... we loved him! Joe & Lisa

Unique and magnificent experience!

My husband and I, along with our four kids, spent one night at Carie’s Bison Farm and absolutely loved it! Even with 6 people, the teepee was huge, Carie thought of every little detail to make our stay as comfortable and easy as possible, the bison meat we purchased was delicious and the location - especially seeing the bison up close and personal, was magnificent. We woke to the sound of the bison grunting to each other in the pasture, and the peacock cawing. So cool! We all had a wonderful time and highly recommend it! Was a unique experience!

Tipi and bison!

Carie was a great host, very hospitable, knowledgeable and kind. The tipi experience was terrific. The site was super clean and the Welcome Book had great information about the history of tipi's and a GREAT restaurant recommendation. The pellet fire inside the tipi made for a cozy sleep space. It was very relaxing to explore the hiking trails and my favorite part was watching the bison (especially the new babies!) HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Slice of Heaven

This is by far my favorite get away! We explored Buckeye Lake and the ranch. The baby bison and peacocks were put in an amazing show this trip. The creek was a perfect play area for our dog who jumped in within 10 minutes of getting to our tipi. Thanks Carie for sharing your slice of heaven with us and our friends who had a blast!

Bison Tipi Retreat

Cherokee Valley Bison Ranch was an amazing experience! The host was communicative, helpful and didn't leave out any detail when preparing our space. The teepee was cozy and the space was welcoming. The scenic background of grazing bison and wandering peacocks was complemented with the symphonic melody of wildlife. It was so easy to get photos of animals while walking the grounds and sitting near the creek. This is an experience you will never forget! Thank you Carrie for sharing your world with us!
