(Note: no fireworks, crackers, sparklers, or garbage burning are permitted) Tip: check out the 'Phases of the Moon' calendar in photos before booking! The Spruill Farm belonged to the Spruill Family for over a hundred years and has just been set up as conservation easement protected land. It includes hardwood forest, swamp, a beautiful swimming beach* on the Albemarle Sound - one of the largest freshwater sounds in the world-, acres of farmland, vegetable garden and perhaps the largest fig orchard for hundreds of miles around. The purpose of the Spruill Farm is to further environmental research, promote ecological education and sustainable practices, and provide access for the public to the ever-diminishing shoreline experience. Please enjoy the incredible sunsets and woodland views, while respecting the serenity of this unique gem on the inner-banks. Wildlife on the property include Red Fox, River Otter, and 95 species of birds, including Bald Eagles (2 nests on the farm), nesting Osprey, Wood Ducks. Visit the 'Spruill Farm Conservation Project' on inaturalist(dot)org to see all 95 species, and upload any images from your observations. Because it is a nature preserve, please read the guidelines and rules closely if you choose to book with us. *Note: the shoreline changes with the wave action and the seasons. This makes the Bobby Wilkins shoreline trail so beautiful- always changing. Magical site
I loved tent camping at Julia's land. The view was breathtaking and so peaceful, my pup and I had a great time. I loved the fact that there us an area where you can swim and some trails, my dog absolutely loved it. I would definitely stay again, I got to meet Julia and she was so sweet and accommodating, 10/10.

Spruill Farm Site #2
Spruill Farm was a great place to camp, the 3 sites were nicely spaced and all had views of the sound. We were on site 2 and had no trouble getting our 19’ travel trailer in place. Loved the cypress trees and Spanish moss plus the sunsets over the sound. We met Julia and Lincoln and learned a little about the operation of the farm. Lincoln showed us where eagles were nesting and we had numerous sightings of the adults and juveniles. Julia was a great host and responded quickly to any questions. We hope to come back with friends.

Spruill Farm Site #1
What a gem!!!
The waters surrounding Spruill Farm were absolutely MAGICAL! Even with the other sites occupied, it was so private and peaceful. We absolutely loved having such close access for kayaking on the sound, where we could pull our boats out directly at our site. Site 1 was very spacious and had many options for tent camping. Quality firewood was available at the site along with a convenient port-a-potty and water well. Great trails and wildlife all around. Host was very responsive and friendly. Such an amazing spot, we cannot wait to visit again soon!
