Hilltop Camp 1
Gorgeous view, must have 4x4
We really enjoyed the gorgeous view from the hilltop camp, even in the rain, and Kat was a very considerate and gracious host. The road up to the hilltop camp is steep and uneven and not marked, and they are not kidding when they say you need a 4x4 to climb it. The only other note I would give to folks considering this site is that it's a great site for one tent, but more tents and you will probably have trouble finding enough flat area to pitch them on.

A step above primitive
Lovely view. Firewood was provided and plentiful. Clean porta-potty. Bring your own TP - there was a hornet nesting in the roll left there. Bring your own drinking water - provided water is good for dishwashing but one of the jugs had mold at the bottom. Campsite was a tad on a grade. No leveled spots for tents. The gravel road that runs by the campsite leads to a parking lot and trail to the Paw Paw tunnel and Ohio-Chesapeake Canal. Great for hiking, but it also meant we had traffic late at night and early in the evening. Felt a little too exposed for two female campers by themselves.

Potomac View
This spot was lovely! Hosts were welcoming, including their cute animal friends. Campgrounds are spaced out well from each other, there's plenty of forest to roam and firewood around to use. The amenities were available and ready to use once I arrived, and hosts were very helpful in talking through options for shelter nearby when it rained during my stay. This was my second time solo camping, and I felt safe and cozy here -- highly recommend!

Great spot, got in late but Kat waited up for me and directed me to my site.

Nice but could have been better!!
Overall, my group did what we came to do... relax, connect with nature, disconnect from the normal day to day. There were a few items that weren't quite as described. First, the site is very uneven. Next, the porta-pot was a bit of a hike from the site (not fun at night) and it is located right on another site (which makes for interesting interactions with fellow campers when you come to do your business). Lastly, it didn't appear that much had been done at the site since it was previously used (trash can was half full already and the potable water container had not been refilled nor washed out/had algae growing in the bottom.
On a more positive note, Tim did greet us upon arrival and helped us navigate the SUV up the hill to the site. There was also plenty of firewood to be burned both at the site and around in the woods. As mentioned before, very quiet (with the exception of occasional dog barking and turkey calling) and secluded spot (no visitors the entire time). I would definitely consider coming back to the Paw Paw area to camp.

Hilltop Camp 1
It was a very peaceful stay. It wasn’t hard to find at all.
The owners are very helpful and inviting. The highlight of our stay was the climb up using our car.
